I found 16/44 wasn't quite mental enough for me, so went 15/44, it's the best mod I've ever done to my Mille, saves so much on front tyre wear!Wink

I used to have a 16/42 and found it ran out of puff far too soon.

Now I have 16/44 and it seems like it has another 10bhp, it just pulls so hard. Only had it up 138mph so far and seem there is more left!

In what sense did it run out of puff? The 44 will have lowered the gearing further so would expect puff to be run out sooner?

I just love the way the bike is "on it" in all the gears at vaguely legal speeds.....Big smile

I plan to fit the 15t front I was given with the bike when I bought it. Dont know what the standard rear is but I'll leave that as is and see how it feels.

Sorry what I meant is being a hugee fecker and slowing the bike down before it kind of hits a wall about 135mph about 8-8.5k and would slowly get higher. Now I hope it will use all the revs.

I have had it to 141 already and was still going up but had to slow down, i hope to see 145-150 without any slowing.

N.B All speeds were reached on my private closed road.Wink

15/44 is great, wheelies in 3rd, still does 140 !

Downside is 1st gear is very short, can pull away in 2nd no probs.

If it's a big Thumbs Up from you as well I'll do it,I can see the attraction of more revs per speed but I wonder about actually going too short on first.

I'm mainly thinking track use here but I suppose there comes a point where second gear becomes first and you effectively have one usable gear less.
