HI all, Im new to this forum so Greetings!

I have just put in a deposit for a used Aprilia Falco, model year 2000 with almost 38500 miles on it. I think Im getting it for a bargain for £1600 and I want to check with you guys a few things-

1) are these engines really long lasting? approx how many miles can I do on them.
2) the last major service done on the bike was at 26k it probably needs one now.. but what does the big service require and how much will it cost me approx?
3) I intend to do long rides more like touring and I like the v twin feel, I intend to do atleast 8000 miles the next year. .so is it a good idea to buy a falco with 38k on the clocks.

Please any advice will be much appreciated..

thanks in advance.

best

Hi there, just bought a Falco myself with 10k,I wouldnt trust a main dealers service history,I know to many of them,I gave mine the full works, only thing that wasnt done was the fork oil, a falco with that sort of milaege would go for about a grand, I paid £1100 for mine ,but it needed a sprag clutch & tyre,as for the motor,go of years if looked after, both my bikes needed water pump seals at the same time,10k & 14k.Griff /Fusebox is about the only one I would trust with my baby, give a shout or PM him on here,he works mobile also
