Saw quite a few memorials outside fire stations in the states last month... Very moving.
Wife's uncles were in the brigade...one died after being badly burned on a shout the other disabled out after a building collapse so close to our hearts |

We were on duty the day it happened. We had been out on a shout and came back to the station to find our Station Commander sat in front of the TV in complete disbelief at what was on the screen.
All firefighters in Scotland will be on parade outside their respective fire stations today at exactly 1:46pm (the time the first plane hit) for 2 minutes as a mark of respect for our fallen brothers from the FDNY.
