hi all,
first-time Aprilia owner, just bought an 02 rsv-r that has a cooling system problem; the main indicators are: - coolant sprayed over the clocks / inside of the screen after a short ride - the clocks show "LLL" and the thermometer symbol as soon as it warms up - the radiator fans never cut in, even when the bike has been stood idling for long enough that the bike is obviously hot I've had a good look around the rads and link hose, etc with the engine running; the LHS rad does have that sea-green tide mark on it that suggests a small leak for a while but I can't see any actual leaks, and in any case, why aren't the fans cutting in? There is plenty of coolant in the header tank. If anyone has experience of this / can suggest the best fault-finding procedure / order of parts to change I would be MOST grateful... |

Try your fan fuse. If thats ok try shorting the fan switch - pull the wires off the sender unit and bridge the connection. If they come on then the sender unit is shot.
