Just purchased a new 14amp battery for my gen 1 tuono. i am used to keeping these bikes battery well charged. owning a rsv gen 1 for 3 years.
I fitted the new battery. Then on my optimate charging, because the bike's been sitting in the garage for 2 weeks. the next morn, it read weak ie red light. The bike starts fine. should i be worried ?
I know the optimate works fine, i had it charging my old RSV. the green light would come on within a few hours on that bike. I have check the optimate lead and the battery bolts are all tight etc.

Sometimed the crappy optimate connector gets a bit crudded up, giving exactly the symptoms you say......they get loose too. I clean mine regular, and pop the metal parts out to retention them (crushed carefully with pliers) so its a nice tight fit again.
I really must change the connectors sometime.....its a similar crappy connector to the one under the pillion seat that tends to burn....removed that one too.
