Hi everyone, just joined the forum.

Thought id introduce myself before snooping around on here for information.
This is my first Aprilia that i'm racing in Golden era superbikes.

Had a slight off at donington last week and im quickly trying to get the bike running again for Brands hatch in March.

It looks worse than it is, frame/engine/forks/wheels are all ok.

Just waiting for the rearsets from Griff then a few nights trying to rewire the thing and it should be ok.

Welcome n WOOPS!

Get a new loom quicker and easier for now repair that 1 when you have more time. If you haven't already invest in suspension when you can(recomend Ktech piston kit for forks, plus service/revalve skock with springs to suit)

Good luck for Brands

Glad your ok, a good mate of mine snapped his ZXR400 in half there doing exactly the same thing! Lost the front too so maybe a camber change at that point?

Yes it is mark, and it's due to mainly two things 1 cold tyre,2 Butt mainly being on the gas that little to much as you change direction as you bank to the left the revs increase any way as your getting to the smaller radius of the tyre and then people give it that extra little 5% more to drive out the other side.
If you listen to the vid above you can hear it. People say the front goes but it starts from the rear I'd put money on it.

It's a wicked set of bends real fast and hard to attack with the above in mind

Hey guys, I'm racing golden era Thundersport as well this year, my first season racing ever at age 50! I did my ACU test on the 22nd at Donnington, lit the rear up on the second lap, well it was a bit cold and damp. Mille coming along nicely except for the two blown fork seals I found this morning.

Not at Brands am booked up! First weekend racing is at Donnington, soooo looking forward to it. There was a couple of milles on the ACU test day. Managed to get number 50. See you soon, all the best for Brands. Your crash looked like the strange thing that afflicted a mate of mine in Misano, it's called the constant throttle and increased lean phenomenon or something like that, look it up its very interesting reading.

Hi Rob. Thanks for sharing the video. Well done for not getting hurt. As you now know there are ONLY two sorts of riders at Donington: Those that have crashed at Craners and those that will crash at Craners. You were carrying some good speed in there but you hit the nail on the head with your thoughts on a cold tyre. The left side on a cold day is always a problem there. When you walk the track you notice there is a drop off at that point so you will always be unloading your front and rear at that point. I try and straight line it as much as possible over the drop off. This throws you over to the right hand side and you cant get back fully to the left for the Old Hairpin but the exit to the Old Hairpin is so wide now you can get away with it.

Look forward to seeing some more videos.

Fairings to fit and rearsets to come from Griff at Aprilia performance (with out who the bike would not be running)

Andy, if you're still struggling for an undertray, I have one. I have loads of bits off my 02 Mille that I raced. Sub frames, radiators, etc. Not too far from you, if you're interested in owt.
