I bought this bike about 5 years ago after it had been sat in a garage for 9 years. The PO had started it every few months while in storage until one day it refused to start and made the sound many of us know, the starter clutch death rattle. I replaced the starter clutch, new oil, filter, battery, petrol and she started right up but a quick test ride showed the carbs which I'd cleaned out were still a bit iffy so the bike got parked in the back of the garage and forgotten about. Earlier this year I dug the bike out, cleaned the carb again, cleaned out the petrol tank, overhauled the brakes and replaced the rubber lines with braided ones, another new battery and she sailed through the MOT. The 26 year old metzeler tyres were replaced and this is what it looks like today. Under 13,000 genuine miles and everything works as it should, it even has a built in paddock stand (called a centre stand, remember those) not bad for a bike that has spent most of its 30 years sat doing nothing. 

Almost forgot, I also replaced the R/R with a Mosfet one as it's a known weakness on the VFR.

	I was looking at buying one of those and that is a nice clean bike, I like that.
