I've stripped and refurbish the rear caliper on my Gen 1 RSV, new pistons, seals ect. went to put new fluid in today and i couldn't get any pressure in the system, there was no fluid being pulled through. i was following Griff's Youtube instructions to the letter
Any ideas ?? |

I have had brakes take ages to start and in the end I filled a syringe a reverse filled from the calliper and then as usual from the master.

Must just be luck of the draw,I did the same to my rear caliper but I just operated the pedal a couple of times with the caliper banjo loose to expel the air, wedged the pistons in as far as they'd go and gave a few more pumps in the time honoured fashion.
I used less the 3 res fills from what I can remember and the pedal was rock solid and easily capable of locking the wheel. I think bleeding hydraulic systems like tuning suspension innards is sometimes held up to be some sort of black art only to be farmed out to experts. Not so! |
