npinking noise or something else?

   Ive noticed that ive started to get what I can only describe as a pinking noise or flutter of bees, tick tick tick noise from under my tank area at any speed at any rev (its there all the time, unless I clutch and disengage the drive.  Its not the chain and its defo coming from the airbox area.  Dealer has said it is likely to be the oil pump scissor gear on the factory model and nothing to worry about as they cant hear the background noise that i can.  any thoughts?
