I JUST PICKED UP MY 2001 RSVR...
I think someting is so wrong...at slow speed in town the bike wobbles and feels like it wants to tip ovr.

at speeds above 50 it get stable .

then turning onto a off ramp stering damper doesen't fight me it seems like it tries to push me into the corner...almost threw me off 2 times.......
IS ITY ME OR IS IT A BIKE ISSUE...?
also noticed when I got home...the service light WAS ON...Krasp...had they dont the scheduled this should have been rteset right?
please advise...i do not want to "go off" on the dealer..I did send the salles man about my concerns.

ant thoughts???????

Service light is not an issue. It needs to be manually reset and is preset when to come on.

Give us more description of the handling problems. They are a tall bike. Have you checked the tyre pressures. How does the steering feel?

Have you tried adjusting the damper ?

My guess would be tyres, damper or steering head bearings.

just wrote loads but lost it all ..lol
could be number of factors, check forks work fine also check head race bearings and check condition of tyres.make sure you dont have small leak etc.
two main  things come to mined..steering damper is set way to high, like adding extra input into your cornering etc.should be about 8 clicks but do check your set-up guide!
also both your wheels are out of balance!!
hope it helps??
always look at life in a lighter way.!

sorry to take so long...
the issue is called...hunting...my tech did adjustments that cured that but front has been dropped to low and i need to have it raised...it's shows 4 rings at the top of the forks...if that makes sense..now the problem is it has a bad top heavyness...it feels like it wants to topple...i can't trust it in a corner as it is superfast trying to lay down into the turn but feels like it will compleatly low side...really a shame i can get this to be as natural as any of my 5 triumphs...so next week down to the tech to rais the front end....

U running maxxis tyres?
Check rose joints in steering damper as the seize , had to do on my 01 Rsvr , these bikes are bit quick in the front end . Until I changed from maxxis to Pirelli supercorsas my bike was as sure footed as a drunk mountain goat...
Damper bearings were shot and it made it veer off course big time.

My 52 plate mille was similar. Though it tended to weave coming out of the bends rather than into. Replaced head bearings, rebuilt front forks, both wheel alignment, new tyres, wheels balanced, suspension set up.
Removed steering damper as dealer said it was at fault....only made matter worse. Dealer was a pain and could not help. Small improvements everytime but I gave up in the end after great expense. It could be movement from the rear? There is another thread about swingarm play?

What did the dealer do to the bike before you got it.  Have you ridden this bike before?  If so, what's changed since then?

Have you checked the rear swing arm and rear wheel for play? Squared off tyres n head race bearings a common fault for your feeling and as said steering damper

All I can say is that you're brave to have got to 50mph on a bike that felt like that Shocked
It could just be waaayyyyyy off tyre pressures but the dealer shouldn't have let it out the shop like it is.

Ha ha, just checked the original posting date (which, in my defence was the 17th December!) and agree that he probably has Embarrassed

Maybe he did.
Worth digging up as I never sorted my one out and there are a few swingarm threads on.
