I'm still not using my RSV-R Mille, so time to sell. Recent years the only miles it does are to the MoT and back! The picture below is a new one taken this morning, Wednesday 10th of July 2024. I've added more photos in the reply below this post.
![]() I'm in York, and have been on here almost since I bought the bike in December 2018. There's a long thread on here which honestly shows all the work done to the bike. Lots of help and advice received from friends on here along the way, thanks for your help. It has most (all?) of the commonly suggested RSVR.net modifications, such as a Redrat Modded Collector, Forza FR200 EPROM, a set of JohnBoy battery and starter cables, Spooky washers, a genuine EVO Ti Exhaust, and 16/44 gearing. So nothing for you to spend on the mods that everyone says you need. Lots of money spent with "Reactive Suspension" near York to recondition the Ohlins Forks, Rear Shock and Steering Damper. Genuine Brembo levers, disks and reservoirs. Rebuilt headstock, swingarm and dog bone bearings. Oberon Clutch Slave. I'd like £5000, which initially some might think expensive, but you get all of the RSVR.net improved parts, all of the standard parts to go with them, and you can see all of the work that's been done to the bike. Comes with all of the MoT's to 2014, Genuine Owners Handbook, printed Workshop Manual, and a new set of Front EBC Double H Brake Pads. It's done just 1500 miles in the five years I've had it, now with 30,400 miles. Please get in touch if you have any questions. |

Lots of fresh pictures of my RSV-R taken this morning. I've loaded about half of the photos taken to the forum, so have as many again on my PC, close ups and different angles. If you want to see the original hi-res images just PM me and I'll email them to you.
The bike started on first push of the button this morning, first run since the MoT last year. ![]() If you have any questions, just ask... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'd be happy to send hi-res original photo to anyone who is interested, or if you want pictures of anything I haven't already uploaded here. I've got the standard parts out of the workshop loft now, the huge and weighty standard silencer, the not-modded collector and a pair of exhaust headers. Also the standard airbox and boot, and the Gabro Scuba EPROM that was fitted to the bike when I bought it.
If there's no interest in the bike as is, I'll set about refitting all the standard parts, and take some pictures of her undressed, ready for the dreaded eBay listing.

Looks a lovely bike mate...Good luck on selling it!
Could be worth putting as standard but all the mods make it how it is?

Thanks Steve. It does seem that everyone wants to buy a standard one, and once they have that rare standard bike, they try to find the parts to modify it. It won't take me too long to put it back as it was, and then I can reduce the price and sell the modified parts separately.

I've traded the "Old Charger" in to a local dealer, now on their website: https://www.transitmotorcycles.co.uk/cars-for-sale/york/car/401/aprilia-rsv-1000-r In case anyone is looking for an RSV-R, all totally standard... |

Hmmm, I guess you ended up selling for considerably less than the £5k you were originally asking, seeing as the bike shop are only asking £4k.
I think most of last year was not a good time for selling motorcycles; definitely a buyers market. At £4k that bikes a bargain. Did you trade it for another bike?

I had too many bikes, or not enough space. The result was that the only bike I went out on was the 17 year old Kymco scooter that was nearest the door. To ride anything else meant moving two out of the way. The RSV-R hasn't moved, other than MoTs, since I came back from the TT before covid. And for last MoT it needed a new battery.
I'm happy enough with the deal. I had a spreadsheet of spend on the RSV-R and obviously knew what I'd paid for it. I've kept the Evo Ti Exhaust and a few other bits, but couldn't face having to take it apart to get to some of the other parts. Two bikes went in, the Kymco and the RSV-R, and one came out. Time for a change... ![]() |
