Been a lot of effing and b'ing and c'ing and standing scratching my head at times but its looking good and the only begger of a problem is I think I need to remove the earth wire going to the battery and relocate.

Exhaust and map is also on the cards for the near future......

lol mate, I see where your coming from, Its a 15 year old design with a young ass slapped on her, It is still the ealy stages of where it will be when its finished, At the moment I feel it doenst flow at all, kinda cut and shut would be about right, but my aim is to get it all to flow and hopefully end up it looking too smooth to move Big smile

The evo is a 9 mate, but a jap import running a 2.3L forged engine, Its pumping out a safe 540bhp at the min and seems to be making the Mille feel like a slug!

What's the plan with the can now?
The pie bike had an unsupported almost vertical pipe from what I remember, it's awkward to get the can supported now. What do jester suggest?

Well mate, exhaust is a tough one, ive got a mate whos a coppersmith who could probably bash a nice can for me so going to give him a shout and see what he can suggest, something as light as possible maybe titanium?? the idea ive got in my head though isnt something ive seen really, I like the idea of a black side exit at the same kind of angle as the tail to really make it flow.

I do really like the look of the Austin GP2R ti and in titanium should be light enough without support????

I do like this one too, and as you say, it sweeps up with the seat unit.

I think you def. need some rear support otherwise you will lose it down the road somewhere. Its only got springs holding it on at the end of the day.

You definitely need support on the can. If not on the can hows about something a bit more inconspicuous like a bracket from the foot peg/heel plate going to the link pipe ?? Just an idea, the amount of movement in it without a bracket (while hitting normal road bumps/potholes and speed bumps at the maximum permitted speeds on her majesty's highways !!) would eventually f**k the pipe.

Think of it like this...
Put one pipe inside another (with a nice snug fit) and clamp one end in a vice, now move the un clamped end up and down, where the pipes join, the external one will start to elongate and eventually possibly tear and the inside one will start to bevel inwards top and bottom where the forces (not jedi forces) have been acting against eachother.

Just a thought.

You need something low level if you want the back of the bike clean, a racefit growler or pipworx gp job fitted straight on a really short link pipe, then you could mount off the rearset area, like a Yoshi R55.

No bike 🙈

I learned the hard way on my CBR that support is required for the can! I'd removed the support for some reason, then gone to get the bike and forgotten the fixings. Thought f**k it it's only a 5 mile run up the road, as I was approaching my destination I thought bike sounded kinda loud, turned round and exhaust was gone! Found it 2 miles back in a grass verge.

Nice EVO, nice garage! I like the jester kits but think you have to have the whole package or it looks a bit half and half!

Agreed, low level and short will definitely be required to keep it looking right.

He's a top guy and very helpful, there's a fair bit of buggering around fitting it, although if I did it again I'd have it done In a few hours as opposed to days

A few more bits done to the Mille, New battery, PC3 fitted and dyno'd, Custom exhaust fitted.

Still to be done, reg plate holder, indicators, and maybe a wrap or paint? Maybe modded collectors?????

Still a work in progress but it puts a hell of a smile on my face now, Runs spot on now the fuelings been sorted, Torque and sound is immense!!!

Just been out on it and seen some grit on the road so sadly I think it going to have to go away for the winter :(
