Bought this a few weeks ago and with the standard system it sounded crap so i bought a mivv decat pipe and thought i would keep the original silencers as i liked the look of the twin small cans but f##k me was it loud if you didn't have ear plugs in you couldn't ride five miles without getting off and feeling like you were punch drunk so i decided to put the spare akra off my mille on.A company called made in metal made the link pipe and hanger for me out of stainless and have made a great job it's not a lot quieter but the sound is further behind you now rather than just behind your heel.

Nice
I do like the Multleys, on my list when the 848 goes.  The Corse colour scheme rocks my boat.

They are good but depending how you ride they do have there limits and some quirks like crap rear brakes the cat on these hugs the engine under the brake res and cooks the fluid and the master is bolted on the engine so heat gets transmitted to it.where have we seen that before? and to bleed it is just like on the mille so i have plenty of experience bleeding them and the clutch fluid goes black in the res as well. The centre stand was on when i bought it and the kick down bar is huge and comes up behind your left foot so you cant easily move your foot back for left handers and i kept knocking my foot off the peg on the road so they cut that down as well.

I did read about the rear brake issues and the attempts Ducati had at fixing it. For me the back brake is surpless to requirements generally as i never use it apart from to lock the wheel for nut removal. The 848 brake is on the motor also and works fine so i think the exhaust routing might be the main issue. It's a tiny M/C so the fluid would soon heat up.

I have not ridden one but talked to quite a few owners who say it's a great middle ground bike between sports and tourer.

One of my mates came round last night on one,he'd just traded in his 1050 Stripple for it.

Cracking bike (if you like that style) and comes with plenty of power and electronic everything.

Red sets off the carbon fibre parts lovely I thought,I'm of the opinion that like Ferraris, Ducati's should be RED.Wink

White does look nice though.

I would of liked one in red but i bought this off someone i know he only lives half a mile away 5000 on clock all the luggage all the r&g,venture shield, asv levers, tank bag,sat nav,and numerous other bits and every bike he has is kept spot on as he owns my local bike shop so i was lazy took the easy option and bought white.

Yellow and red were the only options early on

Yellow got dropped for a while and they have flirted with yellows, whites and blacks since but always red although completely weirdly red is not and option on the 2013 848 ?

For once I wasn't trying to be controversial white looks very nice,I like white bikes Big smile

It's just that some shapes and colours seem to go together so well,I think yellow ferraris look silly (I'd still like one though) and white 848's look nicest I think, but most Duc's just somehow look like they should be red,a bit like Porker 911 Turbos always look nicest in black I think.
