Whereabouts you heading for?

I may rouse myself although tbh with all the idiot ,blind, cage driving, sight seeing grockels that are clogging the roads round here this weekend I may do my usual thing and keep the bikes garaged on bank holidays.

If you are planning on using the normal biking runs I would think given the weather that the camera vans & unmarked bikes will probably be out all day.

B roads are your friend Wink

It's the ones you don't see that cause problems LOL

It turned out nice all right,I spent the day gardening and waiting for all the numpties to head for home before I think about getting a bike out.

I sometimes come home from work and then get a bike out and do an hour or two when the roads are nice and quiet and all the Plod & "safety partnership" vans have got bored and gone home for a brew.

Tea time/ early evening the roads are pretty much deserted and you can play in safety on some of the best roads around.

Remember this one Adam?

Not a scratch or bruise on me but unfortunately I wrote off the clubs 3rd party & ground risks only insured 'plane.

Not the most popular club member for a few weeks after that.

Just thought I'd own up to that

Sounds like a hoot though that does. You still a member? I fancy some paragliding but have too many expensive hobbies as it is.

Strange that,a few of the members did say something very similar. Embarrassed

No, when that happened I was flying with the Stafford club out of Seighford but I gave it up about 10 years or so ago.

I still call in at the N Wales club occasionally when I've sat at the Ponderosa and watched them flying around as they are only just off the Corwen road on the way home.

Was fancying taking up Para gliding a while back but it's got great potential for broken bones and hospital food, there was a club based at Deganwy that flew off Conwy Mountain from above the Sycnant Pass that I went up and watched and enquired about joining though.

Think I'll stick with bikes though,at least you can ride solo without needing a field full of people to get you away.

Oh and thinking about cost, the instructors at Conwy reckoned that given good weather they could have me solo within a week for about £450 and that included the use of the club's chutes etc although once you get to that standard you'd want your own fancy rig rather than club kit.

This is the only way to fly

One of my mates launching off the winch at Seighford, makes even a bike seem a bit tame.

And then there are aerobatics to indulge yourself in as well Smile

My brother in laws moving back to Valley in June.
Last time he lived there he let us sit in all the military jets before the airshow the next day.
