Erm...Little puzzled, this is an Aprilia forum? [:0]
But, for my money I would take the ZX12 because:
a) It's Green, which is almost always great on any Kawasaki
b) The front end of the Busa is a bit ugly
c) I suspect the 12 is a better all round sports bike (unless you want a hyper speed tourer)! [;)]
But I'll stick to my RSV thanks [:)]

I test rode both bikes and i went for the zx12r.
Out of the 2 its the only one which is styled more towards the sports rather than tourer.
Also you get slightly better wind protection on the zx12r.
I have my bike advertised for a swop or px for an rsv because after 4 years since my last rsv i feel myself pulled towards one again.

ZX12R without a doubt. Although the green looks pretty dire in my opinion but even as a lover of black bikes, fook knows why as they such a beatch to keep clean, I would avoid the Suzuki.
Had an 03 in PMB and she was an animal. It was the first bike I had ever bought new, verything up to that point had been secondhand
Wasnt too bad as a sports bike but to be entirely honest it was best suited to getting you from A -> B in a starightish line very, very quickly.
Had quite a lot of work done to mine and it pulled like a train and sounded like nothing I owned before or to be honest since.
This pic was taken outside BigCC in wokingham after it had the PCIIIR treatment, K & N's and a long time on the dyno being set upo by sean down there who really did know his stuff with these brutal machines.

Unfortunately 179RWHP didnt really do me anyfavours when trying to keep up with a great friend of mine on a summer evening ride out and this was the out come.

The two broken wrists and injured pride soon healed and the Insurance were good enough to sort me out so went for another one but I never had the same feelings for the beast as I did the first.
I have ridden a Bugly, eyeabuser, or Hyabusa depending on your point of view and to be honest the 12 is way ahead on handling although neither are sharp.

I think the ZX12R is styled more like a race bike but never handled like one, The Busa was always seen as a tourer/speed machine which in turn took over the straight liner world.
Its really up to you and what way you ride a bike. ie if you wana big in your face look at me go quick in a straight then the Busa is the bike for you but if you want a big cc sport bike looking bike (that only looks like one) then the ZX is the one.
I quite like the Busa for what it is but I dont see the point in the ZX12R. What I mean is if you want a big Jap 4 sport bike then go for just that like a Fireblade, R1 or even a ZX10R and get the speed power and handling.
So Busa.......Big Straight Liner.
ZX12R......I dont care about handling but Ive more CCs than you.

I very nearly bought this one over the RSV last summer, but ultimately only a twin will do for me.
Beats the Busa hands down in the looks department IMO Edited by RSV69 - 17 Feb 2008 at 12:43 |

My last bike was a zx12r and i picked this instead of the busa simply cos it was going to be more useable and more comfortable . I made the move to Aprilia cos i wanted a lighter bike with loads of styling and comfort to boot . Busa's too extreme and head forward into the wind blasting you every second

The Hayabusa knocks the socks off the defunct 12r at ever level. get a busa.. have a look at 200mph.net 5000 plus busa & 12r owners on there..
