    Posted: 20 Sep 2012 at 18:16
Hi
I have a yr 2000 rsvr mille which has just developed a fuel leak from the fuel pump flange in the bottom of the tank .
I thought it was the main o ring so purchased an original part and fitted . fuel still leaking !!
On further inspection the plastic mtg flange in the tank for the pump has distorted on the back n side corner between the mounting bolts .The pump flange has never been removed from new !
anyone else come across this problem ?
The bike is 12 yrs old and immaculate having covered 13,000 mile i have owned it for the last 9 yrs

Yep mine is a 2000r as well did exactly the same to cure mine i got some flat rubber sheet about 2Mm thick and cut a large gasket then put a thin bead of blue hylomar around the opening put the large gasket on then put the pump on and lightly pinched the bolts up.then left for 24hrs to go off then fully tightened it hasn't leaked in 4 years.

Common problem with early plastic tanks.  I had one do the same thing.  In fact I've still got the warped one on the shelf in the garage.

Replacement tank here from another Y2K RSV-R if you need one though.  Pretty much unmarked and mint.
