Hi Guys & Girls.
I have a 2006 RSV1000R.
While replacing headlight bulbs I noticed that the lens in the right headlight was much more mobile, moveable, more loose than the left headlight. To be more precise, there is a small amount of tighter mobility, movement around the bulb sockets (the lens) in the left headlight whereas the mobility, movement around the bulb sockets (the lens) in the right headlight is much more loose.
Is this normal?
Surely both headlights should be the same?
Anyone else encountered this issue?
If something has come adrift, what might it be and can it be rectified?
If yes, how?
If necessary, can the lens be separated from the headlight casing?
Thank you in advance, any ideas, suggestions, help always greatly appreciated.
Cheers Tom.

If you mean the reflector is loose then not a lot you can do without separating the lense from the body for access. You would need to heat the headlight in the oven to soften the black sealant to get them apart but it has its risks if heated for too long.  I did a gen1 headlight that failed its mot as it had lost the silver on part of the reflector and it worked for me but I had no choice. If it’s not affecting the operation of the headlight I personally would be inclined to leave it as is.

“PROBLEM SOLVED”!!
The “up/down” adjustment screw had somehow come out of the spherical receptacle in the back of the lens.
So, I held the lens back with a long screwdriver, minimal effort and screwed the adjustment screw inwards until I felt it “pop” back into place.
Now back to exactly how it should be and the same as the other headlight.
Feeling relieved.

I’ve heard of the reflector coming off the adjuster on gen 1 headlights but that’s a first for a gen 2
