Hi all
Quick question, if I wanted to make my 04 rsv factory a single exhaust is it as simple as fitting a gen 1 collector??
Is there any down falls to one silencer if the job can be done?
Cheers in advance Thumbs Up

Potentially there could be clearance issues due to the different swing arm design, don't know anyone who has done it to say. The problem you will 100% have to address is that the header flanges on the gen 2 are 4 bolt and the gen 1 is 3 bolt. So you will need to cut them off the gen 2 and weld onto the gen 1 headers

Aprilia changed the system to twin cans to allow the engine to breath to suit the gen2 better flowing heads bigger throttle bodies etc etc

So if you go to a single can ensure you carry out the mods like my modded headers (redratbike modded collector) to regain the performance you’d lose with a single can system

It’s been done before

as said it’s not a straight swap from a gen1 part , so maybe take gen 2 collector and chop of where the 2 pipes split and graft in a gen1 piece for the single linkpipe

What’s your reasoning for it ???

I came off my track bike at Cadwell a couple of weeks back.It slid down the track on the left hand side and the lhs can is knackered.
I can't find a direct replacement so my thinking was to go single pipe

I've got a few sets of stock cans if they are any good to you?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

Thanks for the offer but I would prefer an aftermarket.
It has Arrows on at the moment, I just need to decide which route to go down.
Cheers

Arrows are lovely on the gen2, my favourite cans other than the Tigs

Search this on eBay

Looks like someone has made a single can system for a gem2

APRILIA RSV 1000 R Ajko Superpole titanium exhaust 2004 2008 ID91684

Not sure the curve in the rear cylinder header is ideal. It’s a bit kinked to get the radius tighter.
