Hi,
Does anyone know the part number for a gen2 ohlins fork cap? Mine has play in the blue pre load part so I assume the threads are damaged. Also let me know if anyone has one for sale!

Had that on mine from new on one leg if I understand the problem correctly . The cap comes apart and you will see that the preload adjuster is held in by a large nut with rubber seal underneath to take up any play and prevent water ingress. On mine the nut was maxed out but there was still play ( seal was fine) so I added a very thin washer. It was actually a crankshaft thrust washer. Ohlins sell the cap in parts inner/outer etc so you would need to decide what parts you need if you want to go the replacement route. Could be the nut has just worked loose on yours or the rubber o ring has disintegrated after all this time. You need a deep socket to reach the nut.

Hi,
Had my local mechanic take it apart again. He couldn’t see an issue but the problem is there again after riding for a mile. Any idea where I can find the part numbers?

Here is the parts diagram. On mine the washer (8) was too thin to take up the play but if the o ring (7) is worn, then it will also introduce play. Above assumes the nut holding it all together is tightened correctly. I suspect the major parts are out of production now.
