We can hope! Vinales is never going to get there, so they need a quality rider like Martin. I'll bet Ducati were really caught off guard.

I wonder if Ducati may regret signing Marquez - they have a good setup at the moment with Bagnaia as clear no 1, and they have won the last two seasons. I feel that Marquez will be disruptive to the team, Bagnaia wanted Bastianini to stay, and they could end up with conflicts that harm their results. They certainly don't need Marquez.

Buyer beware!

Could be worse as there is 3 ish weeks until the first race. 2 weeks further on and there would be no chance of getting any kind of recovery done. The bigger worry seems to be that they haven’t established exactly the cause.

I saw a slow-mo close up with sound and it looked like a throttle blip mid corner a split second before the slide. Not the best place to be doing a gear change I wouldn't have thought - Electronics glitch?

Aprilia seem to be suggesting it was Michelin supplying a 9 month old tyre which Michelin say was not the cause. The other riders said the medium tyre Martin was using, was not suited to the temps but he had no soft ones left. But it could all be smoke and mirrors to hide something else. Martin had already crashed a few laps before so maybe existing damage or the same cause for both. The tyre was 31 laps old so you would think Martin would have long since pitted, had he thought the tyre defective.
