I took my rsvr over to etto motorcycles yesterday, he’s making me an aluminium fuel tank for it, I took a spare gen1 tank he’s going to use as a former and a spare 1.5 tank, he’s fitting a newton fuel cap as well, he does some beautiful fab work, he’ll be able to make others now he’s got the formers if anyone is interested in one.

Forming over the tank increases volume as well, not sure how much by yet but it’s 3mm over the tank.

From what I’ve seen of Ian’s work at etto he’s very good and mark at rcd has good things to say about him, like most things as they get older people tend to shy away from spending larger amounts on them, I’ve seen people buying cheap chains and oil, cheap brake discs and pads because it’s an older bike, I’ve never understood it personally.

Are you painting standard or do you have something special in mind?

Looks very interesting Warren. Will he be able to make them to order from now on?
Might be tempted myself....

Following with great interest, best solution for the ethanol woes really.

There are quite a few on the Ducati Streetfighter forum who are looking for aluminium tanks after TechnoRace kind of pulled out. Started a group buy, made 8 or so then got too busy with other stuff and not doing any more.
Would Etto's be able to turn their hand to that as well I wonder? I doubt it would be huge numbers, but there were quite a few who had their names down on the group buy who missed out.
Question everything.

He said he’s not doing anymore one of specials as they take a lot more time but if he can use a former like mine then he’s happy to make pretty much any tank, mine was booked in for next year originally but he’d had a cancellation and asked if I wanted mine made earlier, do priests shag alter boys kind of question.

Kindig do some utterly incredible steel work, there’s some incredibly skilled custom metal workers in the us. Understandable when you think how long the custom scene has been going and how big it is there.

If there’s a tank for a bike he can make one, he just needs a sacrificial tank as he fills them with concrete to make a solid former.
