    Posted: 23 Jun 2023 at 04:38
I know its a gixer but bear with itLOL

Been pretty quiet on here these days but I still have a gen2 Factory aswell as enough parts to build at least one more but I rarely ride on the road anymore track riding as taken my attention away from the road where I can really enjoy speed without the fear of losing my job and even prison if caught really pushing on!

So as some of you will know I had a little 1999 zx6r which I planned on racing in thundersport however I just couldn't afford the whole season and missed the first few rounds meaning it was very unlikely to get on the grid due to priority going to those in for the season.

At around the same time I heard of a tidy road k6 750 with some nice bits on it and decided to buy it and build my own trackbike from scratch after sourcing another k6 with some very serious upgrades but highish miles.

Over the winter I started the build stripping my bike down and checking the valve clearances, bearings etc etc.

Once I was happy I decided what was going on my bike, what was going to be sold and put the donor bike back to a very stock trackbike which I sold on along with all the road kit from my bike.......keeping upBig smile.

Then the fun part building a super light k6!

Spec

2006 GSXR 750

Ecu flash 135BHP at the wheel
Full Ti akrapovic system
K&N filter
Ape pro manual CCT
Keyless ( neat switch on the dash)
Melloti top yoke
Accosato billet master cylinder
Accosato clutch perch
STS clip ons
Motion pro QA throttle
Accosato calipers and pads
PFM discs with Ti bolts
BST carbon wheels TD slicks
Diamond pro rearsets
Diamond pro fuel cap
Shido lithium battery
Translogic intellishift QS
K tech RDS cartridge kit
K tech DDS Pro shock
Sigma slipper clutch
Pro fibre fairings
Paint job

Some of the parts I already had, most from the donor bike and were only a few trackdays old and a few bits bought new by myself.

The results have been amazing! It was very capable before but now its an absolute weapon and more than holds its own in the upper group against much newer bikes.

I'm liking that Clap

One of those would be my proffered choice of trackday bike if I were younger.
A couple of guys from this forum previously sold their Apes and went Gixxer 750 for track use saying it was roughly the same performance as an an Ape but much easier to ride.

Having ridden with them I can understand what they meant,my Mille is nimble (for a Mille) but the way they could flick into corners was eye opening.

Very nice, I’m partial to a gixxer myself, I’ve always liked that model even with the standard can, some very tidy upgrades 👍

Looking good Adam, a nice build. I hope all those stickers are from contributors to the build mind?

Cheers gents I'm very proud of how it's come out. It kind of got a bit out of hand one mod led to another but once pushing on the OEM suspension was the weak link so I had planned on getting a re valve over the winter but the donor bike came up for sale with the ktech shock and cartridge kit which would of been 2k alone plus the carbon wheels and loads of other stuff the po bought in lockdown he spunked 10k on it and only used it on a handful of days then bought a brand new S1000RR to keep up with his mates. I couldn't believe what I got the bike for but mine was a known low mileage road bike so had to be the base.

Absolutely ! Only bits on it plus the obligatory badapple racing logo Wink

Always liked the classic team suzuki and never seen another on track. Friend did a fantastic job on the paint and for once I didn't f**k up the decals.

It's the model I wanted lightest gixer they ever made and with the diet she's around 165kg wet . The PFM discs were inspired by your builds mate and I'm really impressed with them especially the the accossato kit 👌

Bang on description mate. They are so easy to use but very quick around UK tracks . The wheels make it even quicker to turn I took 5 seconds off my best time round snetterton with the upgrades and it's a pleasure to ride.
