As promised.
Finally got around to fitting the BST’s to the Tuono V4 off my Gen2. Had the new Bridgestone S22’s fitted as recommended by you lads. So the front wheel fits with zero mods but the rear requires flat washers under the ABS ring and then subsequently a washer or two, under the speedo/abs pick up. Other than that it’s perfect. I tested the speedo and ABS light going off on the dash etc and all good. Just need a dry day now… ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

VERY NICE!
That's the beauty of the carbon wheels once you've got a set they can usually be able to fit to most bikes with spacers or they hold their money and you can sell them on. They look awesome

We had great weather up here today, had a run to Hawick and the Steve Hislop museum. It's small but worth a visit if you are passing, set in a lovely park. Sorry didn't take any pics - brain fade! ![]() |

They would look great wouldn’t they Hangry. They looked mint on my Gen2
Unfortunately I just fell through Racebolts titanium catalogue so have some front caliper bolts, rear disc bolts and pinch bolts on their way. Already have the chain adjusters. Looks like the speedo pick up is off the abs sensor so I don’t need steel disc bolts on the rear as a bonus. Anyway Jim…you did ask dude! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yours is mint too!
Yeah it would be good if there was an AP day. Even Brackley festival isn’t going ahead anymore. Calne festival was cancelled too. Mind you it poured down so it would of had a poor turnout. Next year maybe

Stunning James absolutely love it. I'm hoping September and October will be warm as its been so crap this year so maybe an opportunity before the year is out. I'd definitely be up for a meet up if my little triumph is allowed out to play

Thanks Adam
I’m sure your trumpet would be more than welcome with you. Managed to get out this afternoon down to Bristol , back through Bath and Chippenham. Maybe it’s the electronic suspension but I didn’t notice the lighter wheels oddly, but tyres felt fine. Naturally, I wasn’t going hell for leather, but felt planted and quick warm up, as you lads mentioned. Got my lad for a couple of weeks but hope to have a good bank hol weekend with luck

Glad to hear you've got a few more miles under your belt, interesting that you couldn't notice the wheels I was always under the impression it was a " night and day" difference so the electronic suspension must be doing some serious witchcraft to mask it. At least they look the nuts
. We'll have to see how the rest of the so called summer goes and see if a meet up can happen.

I noticed them when on my factory gen 2. Certainly pushing and moving it about off the stand. Riding wise the front could feel a bit unstable till I dropped the forks another ring.
On the Tuono with its cast rims I expected to really notice. But as you say the electronic voodoo must of been playing ball. Plus I was merely cruising. Fingers crossed for a decent spell of weather

You mean you raised the front a ring? Confusing terminology isn't it ha. That's always put me off (that and the price) of fancy wheels. Maybe being on the larger side and possibly lacking some fine motor skills finesse I've always preferred a bit of reassuring weight to the steering. I equate it with the feeling of grip. I've currently got my forks flush with the top clamp. Gen 1 mille that is. I thought if I got lighter wheels I'd probably have to get an RSV4 front end or something to get a little less offset to extend the trail out some more to overcome the agility.

Went from 3 rings to four rings showing Owen. So whichever way works better for you in the description 😀 Bit like half empty half full glass. But yes dropping the front yoke down/or raising the leg, so more nose down ass up. Helped stop the flighty feel. That was on the Gen2 of course. On the Tuono it felt just fine as is but then it was only a 60 odd mile trip cruising.
Thank you Rick. That’s a mega compliment considering your carbon titanium goddesses 😁

Of course what you are really feeling is the extra effort caused by the gyroscopic effect of the heavier wheels rather than tyre grip. Lighter wheels will allow you to better feel the changing grip levels.

Hi Jim
Yes I did fit it. It was mega easy Tbf. I used those solderless crimp type connectors with heat shrink tubing. You can also use the ones with the solder in that melt as another option. What I do, is retain the oem connector by snipping the wires with plenty of cable. That way also if you ever wanted to stick the original pieces back on you can just snip out your connector and rejoin again with fresh connectors. Whatever you decide ensure the oem plug fits through any of the holes they need to on the tail tidy. If they do no issue, but if it’s a squeeze pass the wires through before crimping/solder etc. Hopefully that makes sense. What you do have is a mass of cable left over as the cables run a good foot plus further along the bike into the rear bracket before. I just wrapped them up neat under the seat in case I ever swapped back to it. You could cut it off if you chose of course.

I use these solder seal connections, very easy to use and do a great job.

I've tried generic Chinese stuff like that and found at least some of them quite poor. Whilst I'm sure these are probably made in China are these just rebranded generic stuff or better quality/performance?
