I know we probably all saw the Brembo Brake pad recall but I noticed these.

I purchased my 2020 V4 Tuono new last year. I questioned if the brake pads were anything to do with the recall and was informed mine were ok.

BRM10B is the faulty compound and when I fitted my wheels I took the pads out for a clean up and this is what I found.
I’ve been trying to contact Fowler’s as the bike is there for an annual service and in the interim I fitted a set of SBS RS pads, which may actually be better anyway.

Have these missed the recall or not you think?

The recall was for water and salt ingress and the pads cracking, crumbling and even detaching from the back plate. They look pretty shoddy compared to any of my other brake pads fitted to my bikes as it goes. They also seem to have rust appearing despite no wet riding in months

I guess they will know the batch numbers but I wonder if the dealers really stripped out pads to check. I would try to find the details of the recall independently of the dealer.

Did the recall happen before or after you bought the bike?

Thanks for the response

The recall started in May and I ordered the bike in June.

I specifically asked and was told it was okay. Build date on the pads is 02/19 and the batch matches by number in the recall. Only difference is it appears is the Brembo factory has over stamped the last two digits. The original is still legible, so I wonder if it is just the back plate that is the recall part and now the material is different. Either way I will bring it up with the dealer when I get there.

Started in the states but became worldwide

If the batch number matches then I would have thought they should have been changed not just inspected (If they even were).

Agreed

The BRM10 compound was the faulty stuff on the recall.

The number below the BRM number in the first pic originally ended in a 6. That number is the exact recall serial number. The 6 has been over punched if you look by 29.
The bottom right number 02/19 is it’s manufacture date.

In my mind they look iffy in terms of quality and I’ve never had pads that are used in the dry corrode so much
