anyone know how to get the clocks into a permanent dark mode, it would really help me out i have been through all of the settings and cant seem to find anything. i dont think its even possible.

I think it just does it automatically as required. 

As far as I know you can only adjust brightness but I’d need to read the manual to be sure. Unless you can trick the sensor wherever it is into carrying out the function all the time

Im going to give the tape trick a go,

its just nice to know im not the only one who prefers the dark mode, for me its leauges better in terms of readability. 

never been on that site before i did notice a lot of RR/RF riders, is it more american? i still have more questions and stuff to ask i may have to set up an account.

Yes it has a lot of V4 topics doesn’t it. 

They certainly have a bigger following over there it would appear or more people tinkering at least. 

It’s always worth a google of most things as it will direct you there on most occasions 

I know what you mean about the dark mode too

AF1 is probably the biggest Aprilia forum on the net.
Different sub forums for every model and other Italian makes too.
Similar to this forum, in that it's run by a bike shop, in Texas I think.
Lots of good stuff available in their online shop too.

People say I don't know Jack Sh1t; but I do, he lives next door.

yeah looks like a good spot on V4 info. i have actually bought an exhaust, just a slip on and had servo questions but it looks like i have found the answers on that forum,

i got the permeant dark mode to work, i literally used a tiny peace of black electrical tape, covered the sensor and now its dark mode all the time.

Good little trick that then 😅

Of note it’s worth checking but to unlock the correct map for a slip on you may need a race ecu? 
Whilst it will run on it you will need to have it mapped to remove the engine management light for the servo plus some other improvements in fuelling. 

I’m sure it’s covered there but when I had mine from new the dealer has the codes to unlock it all with a slip on. You can get the codes when you buy from AF1 with Akrapovic for example. Have a look there for peace of mind at least. 
The above fitting and dealer unlocking was purely for Aprilia to agree to warranty on the bike but since yours is out it may not be an issue other than cheating the servo/engine lamp illuminating.

that is correct about the race ECU, for the warning light you can bypass this with a healtech servo buddy, it just plugs into the socket that you remove the servo motor from, i have already bought a slip on and wanted to not go down the usual route of akra,arrow or SC so i have got a Yoshi

definetly keep it updated with a pic, i have bought a tail tidy as well, but im kinda chicken about fitting it as you need to cut wires.!

Also tail tidy is pretty straight forward really. Heat shrink bullet connectors or solderless connectors your friends here. 
You will need to cut back a bit of the cables as they are very long otherwise you have a mass trying to be hidden under the seat. Naturally you can refit it should you decide to take the tail tidy back off at some point in the future. Has it got LED indicators? If so you may find the connectors are small enough to go through the tail tidy mounting point which would save cutting also.

Looks better and will be less harsh on the eyes. The only issue with those screens is all the reflections

Slightly off topic, but what tyres are you running on the RF ? 

I’ve Pirelli Diablo supercorsa sp v3’s and whilst I like them I’ve been recommended Bridgestone s22’s by a tyre place for longer life and better grip. Even as far to say the Pirelli’s come with a warning sticker on, mentioning not to use the tyres in the wet! 

Id rather an actual riders opinion than a magazine or online review since they are always just carried out on track and never seem to be damp roads, gravel etc.

I got V3s on it mate which is stock on the entire range it seems.
i dont like them, the feel is just standard for a set thats costs near 300 quid
i will be running S22's as soon as i can. i have used them on my blade and on my gen 2, i also had them on my mille and got 1 track session in which i rode to with no warmers and got a proper session in. i was huge on pirelli but the BT016s i had converted me and when i got the S22's poowee. i was recommended them as a fast road tyre with fast warm up and excellent grip that can also keep up on trackdays and they are exactly that.

i would recommend them but tyres are so subjective, all i can say is give them a go  i don't think you would hate them in anyway.

I think with that and the fact I’ve pretty much convinced myself I’d like them then I will get some. I’ve my carbon rims to stick on so new boots are required. I used to use pilot powers on my Gen2 but appreciate tyre tech has vastly moved on since they were first introduced 😁.

James I can back up Jim's opinion. My mate I do trackdays with has them on his k7 GSXR 750 and I had a go on it when my bike was knackered due to the swingarm the other week. Very impressed Thumbs Up

Again, I switched to S22's on my Gen1 at the start of this season as my S20 Evo's had expired and they are a decent step forward in terms of warm up and feel. The front is more a rounded profile rather than a 'V' like the SuperCorsa's which makes transitions smooth (But not slow) with stable cornering but still allowing easy mid-corner adjustments.

Decent tread pattern too with the front having enough water clearing if you do get caught in the rain. Also supposed to have enhanced life but will only know when I have finished them off although I've done about 1500 miles on them and they still look almost new.

geezer your gonna be impressed. even if its just for how fast they feel sticky on the road!, i get to the top of my road ahit a few corners and i feel like im on the stickiest rubber i ever felt. where as with the V3s i feel like I'm ridding in damp conditions even in the burning hot sun until they get warm that is.
