I’d need to read the manual but I think the calibration is something to do with tyre size perhaps

All I can think of is go into calibration and check details are correct.
Also ensure the ABS rings are not damaged or have a stone or large dead insect in it perhaps. I think they need only be a card it card width from the pick up sensor and maybe dirt or something is causing issue. Once recalibrated try it. You may need to press and hold + again to reset it/turn it back on. Failing that have a word with dealer of give Griff a call. Could just be a duff sensor. Whilst not the cheapest I don’t think they are really stupid cash and you are still in warranty ?

On car systems, they will do a self check at ignition on/start up.
If the Abs light stays on before either wheel has turned it must be seeing an electrical fault, this could be sensors or pump/control etc. But, if the Abs light goes off but then comes on after wheels have turned it is more likely that it is not seeing a wheel moving when others are, this could be mechanical as in a damaged reluctor ring etc. Traction control will not work if there is an Abs fault. I'm assuming bike systems will work on a similar basis.

That’s a well written example Wally.
That’s my understanding of it too. It comes on then goes off once the bike is ridden over a few meters or a certain speed like 5kph or similar on these. |

The lights should go out at 3mph. Calibration is for when you change the tyre size, its calibrating the TC.
I had this issue on my V4T a while ago. Cant remember how I fixed it. Does your QS still work. Have you got access to Guzzi DiaG?

No no Guzzi diag I’m in Edinburgh Scotland ☹️
Yes i know about hold button for 3 seconds Didn’t work. I think i know what problem is. I haven’t calibrated my bike correctly yet. As it says it also turns off the aprc on bike. So as soon as it stops pouring down I’ll set it. Hopefully this will rectify it. I’ll let you know. Thanks again Jim

Sorry but Ive got to ask, what has being in Scotland got to do with Guzzi Diag? ![]() Also , do you have full instructions for the Calibration? Many people forget the last step and wonder why it doesn't work!

Its a free down load and dead easy to use. Id be happy to talk you through it you decide to get it. You just need the cables and a lap top. Saved me a lot in terms of time and dealer time (cost)

Just for interest, how different does a tyre need to be before it needs to be calibrated? As we know, the same size in different brands are different diameters as are different tyre types within brands.

I always did mine if I went from 200 to 190. I generally tend to stick to Metzelers so changing like for like never caused an issue.
The hardest part of Calibrating is having a flat stretch of straight road long enough for it to calibrate.

Hi Guys
Just to say thanks for all your comments. When you don’t know about things like calibration (DONT TOUCH) lol. I think i have finally calibrated it hopefully. I put calibration on it started flashing. Drove approximately 24 mph for a while. Waiting to see calibrated. But kept looking then the calibration was off. So i stopped switched off. Restarted and it seems all good 🤞 Thanks again Jim
