ok I accept the fact that the sachs shock is 'build to a price' quality................ i have an 04 falco first shock cried enough after 7k miles, replaced under warranty cool, one might think, now after only 3k miles shock gone................
i dont ride like an 'eejit on farm tracks, wots the deal here, i dont see any point in persuing another warranty replacement, plus i cant afford another 500 quid to get a penske/ohlins/wp
DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY INFO ON A SUITABLE BREAKER REPLACEMENT EVEN A FULLY ADJUSTABLE JAP BIKE SHOCK WITH HIGHER SPRING RATE AND BETTER DAMPING AND COOLING
i need help here like minded souls, or i'm gonna go back to working two jobs just to keep it in suspenders,[V]

Hi, to solve my Falco's rear shock problem I've located a crashed Tuono. The guy had a frontend crash so the rear was fine. I took the Tuono's SACHS shock and fitted it to my Falco. I just replace the shock not the linkages. The only issue I had was that after fitting the shock the Falco was standing higher than before. A lot of work but the shock fit perfectly, solve the problem and it didn't cost to much. :) [/quote] TKP |

Hi,
What I meant by standing higher is when you're off the bike. I think the Tuono's shock can extend more than the Falco's shock. If the bike stands higher when you're on it that can be fixed with the preload setting. As far as handeling goes it feels more more stable - the slight "looseness" I felt in the rear is gone. It also fixed the "sponge" feeling after playing on the track. To get the front to turn quicker just push the front shocks through. Hope it answered your questions.
