Hi had bike (gen 2 tuono) mot’d garage mentioned the brake light works intermittently when the front brake is used. My usual chat I take to is typical having a few weeks of for an operation. Is there anything simple to check or easy to replace. ???

Squirt some contact cleaner into the micro switch under the lever and check the connections on the plug going to it are clean. Failing that it might need replacing.

I hope this helps:
Check the switch itself - it’s a micro switch which could have suffered a bit of water or dirt ingress ingress. A good spray of contact cleaner may sort it out. Keep the spray away from paint work though.
Check for kinked or pinched wiring around the headstock area. Check for continuity. Check the connector - the terminals may be corroded. If you can - prove the fault is within the switch and wiring sub-assembly before you point the finger at the loom. If you disconnect it from the loom try shorting the loom end pins with a paper clip and wiggle away - it may be a dodgy connection there. |

I think I used this on my Gen 1and used bullet connectors and heat shrink to connect it to the original plug. I'm not sure if the Gen 2 is the same switch though.

The switch is mounted on two plastic pegs which are prone to breaking. When they break, the switch can move around and may well cause an intermittent operation.
