What is actually the problem? Not turning over, spinning but not starting, etc?

Sounds a bit like it’s flooded?

The fuel should be fine unless it has a lot of water in it perhaps from blocked breather pipes.

Cold engine…Ignition on, fast idle on full, thumb the starter but do not attempt to use ANY throttle.

I got my first Mille R about 18 months ago and she was just plain difficult to start.
If she fired and stalled then game over - no amount of cranking or everstart would start it and I had to leave it an hour and start again. Probably flooded.
Suggest a fresh battery - lots of views on battery types but get the 200cca version.
The AP workshops starter upgrade kit is worth a thought too, bigger cables and relay means more muscle to the starter.
Other things to consider, fresh plugs made a big difference and make sure there’s nothing obviously wrong - split hoses and so on.

does it live outside or in a garage ? i find they dont like living outside

or try the wide open throttle trick

this clears a flooded engine hopefully and starts with a bang literally

do not attempt to keep starting if the battery is running low as you’ll end up screwing up the starter sprag clutch as the battery runs low it can’t push the pistons over the top of the compression stroke and basically forces them back down

the sprag only works one way and this kills the sprag .. the injectors need 10.5 volts to fire too so i’d the voltage is dropping it will never start

You probably have the diagnostic connection plugged in under the seat. When in diag mode the dash displays the throttle sensor position. If you move the throttle you will see the numbers change. You need to unplug it ( single bullet connect on right side of subframe.)  The fast idle is at min when rotated forward and max backwards towards the rider.

If your not a Premium member you need an external upload space to put your pictures on. There are free ones on the net.

Method 1

Once you have uploaded the pics click the add image in the posting menu (icon with picture of a tree) and paste in the url of the image you want to display. (www.Photobucket\yourname\bike.jpg for example)

If the url is correct the picture will appear in the preview window and then hit ok and it will add to your post.

Method 2

Or the fast way is to use html - [img] then add you picture url and close it with the same html tag but put a / in front of the img inside the brackets. - open square Brackets /img close square brackets (can't type it exactly or it will think i am adding pic and not display the text)
