Anyone got the correct torque spec for the 3 security torx bolts that hold the two halves of the calipers together on the 2002 at all?
Buggered if i can find them anywhere and having had the bolts out (not seperated the two halves) i want to make sure the bolts are correctly torqued as there appears to be a smidge of fluid seeping through (i may have done them up a bit looser than required. cheers |

A T40 screw will take 50nm without problem if it's a decent quality. However, we need to consider the material it's acting on. Personally I would have thought 20nm would be sufficient for brake calipers. If they still leak I would check the seals for damage , dirt etc.

I saw this asked on a Ducati forum and a dealer said that Brembo don't give out the torque figures as they don't endorse rebuilds even by dealers, but said dealer advised that they use 35nm.
That sounds about right to me as tight enough but not too tight. |

Cheers mate, the brakes (as with everything on this bike!) were fine before i actually started to pull it apart
![]() The bolts i took out and replaced one at a time rather than splitting the calipers as i was only de-rusting and then ACF50'ing the bolts themselves. After changing the brake lines and then bleeding the brakes the other day (which took forever for some unknown reason) i noticed that there was the smallest of drops of fluid that had collected on the lowest parts of the calipers. It may be something and nothing but i didn't torque them up so it could be that they need to be tightened further, although they were extremely tight when taking them off. |
