EFI flashing on dash while riding.

Ok so here's my latest problem. Been riding the bike all week with no problems since I gave it a mini service last weekend. Rode to work today all is well. Bike stands outside work all day in the never ending high winds and torrential rain. Finish work so start the bike up and it starts immediately so get the usual instant grin of satisfaction. Ride approx 200 yards and look down to find EFI flashing it right hand display. Didn't notice it when I started the bike and bike was riding fine. Tugged the clutch lever and blipped the throttle and my temp display comes back. A few seconds later and EFI is flashing in display again so pulled clutch and blipped her again and hey presto temp display is back. Happened loads of times on my way home and continued for the entire journey. Got home and parked up and left her running while chaining her down for the night and constantly checking dash and no EFI display atall. Could it be just the damp. I know a little about how some ECU's store fault codes and some don't but that knowledge is from working on cars. I have seen somewhere that the RSV has a self diagnostic system but before I pull the bike appart if it ever stops raining. Does the ECU store the faults or only show current faults as now it seems to be ok so would the fault still show. Also how easy is it to use or work the self test and does anybody have any suggestions as only happened today after being out in the wind and rain all day.

And its back again doing the same as before. Still not had the bike long enough to give her a name but EFFY springs to mind lol. Must try this diagnostic mode soon.

Checked the sensor and made sure plug and socket was dry before smearing with Vaseline and refitting. Also drowned the clutch lever micro switch in wd40 and clicked it about a million times lol but problem is still occurring as per the original post.

The reason I asked is the side stand switch can be another cause. They often get neglected as in the dirt spray. If they act up they can cut injector power as part of the safety circuit. Usually you get a stutter though.

Might be tucked up around the batt tray somewhere.
