Hi, any help appreciated, I've just recently bought a 2004 Gen RSVR and it had a fuel pump issue which I repaired and the bike was running fine, however it did need a new rear shocker and dog bone as the linkage bearing were all shot. Also fitted a new battery and carried out a oil change and all fluids.
I re-fitted everything, fairings etc, and when I went to start the dash was dead although the bike cranks over it wouldn't start, I then checked the rear wheel speed sensor, removed cleaned up re-fitted and spun the back wheel and the dash came back on. I thought that was it and booked the bike for an MOT test and on the way to the test the dash became erratic, it went blank then every light flashed on then back off again, managed to get back home and switched the bike off, now the dash won't come back on the bike won't start, any help would be appreciated as I'm really at my wits end with the bike already and as I'm on a state pension taking it to a dealer is not an option.

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Maybe check the connector block/wiring from the ignition switch back under the tank by the frame rail. The ignition switch has multiple live feeds so it’s possible to have part of the bike live and other parts not.

All sorted!!! Behind the cover on the left side of the fairing, there are a load of block connectors, there's one with six wires in and out, bottom two terminals in the block were loose so removed them and soldered and heat shrunk them, all good and running again!!
