RAF Wittering (beside A1 between Peterborough and Stamford): Sat 26 May. It's £50 for the whole day and with only two groups..... Thats a sh*t load of track time Details of day: (Last years Detail's to give you an idea) You need to pre-book your slot via myself, turn up and ride not available Book in from 8am, so if anyone is travelling a long way, there are camping facilities at the circuit with toilets but no showers. 9am is briefing, 9.30am 4 slow sighter laps following 2 marshals, then 10am is the fast group, 10.30am the slow group. Staggered starts all day with about 25mins on track in each period. Track is over 3 miles long with loads of run-off, so if you bottle it, you can often just pick the bike up... . There are two groups slow/inter or inter/fast though there should be no problem switching groups. There is a burger van by the clubhouse, there are trained paramedics in attendance and 2 marshals who circulate with first aid kits and red markers. They are insured themselves, but it's up to you if you want to insure your bike specifically as your normal road insurance isn't valid as with all circuits. Bring tape to tape up yr headlight/indicators etc. And of course, 1 or 2 piece-leathers, proper boots/gloves and a legal helmet. Also, ensure yr petrol tank is as full as possible upon arrival! There are petrol stations at the A1/A605 intersection services and another just north of the Little Chef bb & I will be at for 7.45am. I've been helping organise this event for a number of years and for ££'s for track time you cant beat it. If you fancy a bit of track action ring me on 07891 60 25 25 It is short notice but for £50 (Its for charity too) you cant beat it. Just for info, As with all track days around the UK, Its not a race,Its chance to explore the limits of you machine in a safe environment:blah: (Or as i like to think its a good chance to p155 0ff all the jap crap, thanks to the track being perfectly suited to big twins with lots of corners that are just begging for you to use all that V-60 Grunt!!!!!)

It is too good to be true. I've been involved with it for the past five years, and its been running for about 6 or 7 years bi-annually (i'll confirm the dates of the second one later this year. It's normally reserved for just milatary personel though invited guest's are allowed. The reason for the price is that it's a charity event. It's actually run by members af the UK Flying Aardvarks/RAF Wittering MCC and in previous years we have raised over £7k in one year. We also hold Moped endurance racing events twice a year which prove very popular.

BTW I looked at the 2006 track day shots. If you have a red n black RSV and silver grey lid you really got her over in some of those shots. [;)]

Black RSV with Silver/black lid! Thats me Where were the shots you were looking at?. There are some belting long corners on this track, one of them simaler to Malory Parks first right (but our's goes left) Its good for getting pegs down. As for booking late it should not be a problem though we need at least a couple of days notice. The reason i stated you cant turn up on the day is that because the location is an RAF base we need to sort out a pass for you and on the day some form of ID may be nessacary. As for bringing your mate on the TL1000. The more the better.

I'm a Pirelli/Dunlop guy myself, so maybe someone else could comment on how good the 014's are on a track.

I'm glad you enjoyed the day. and to say it came accross as organised supprised me. As you prob heard in the morning brief the main people who normaly organise the event were out of the country for most of the year and the rest had to try and put it all together blind. I found out on the day that the only advertising they did for the event was my posting here (and the other forum) But we still got over 50 riders!!! Anyway there will be another later on in the year but this time things will be organised back the way they were in previous years aka BIGGER, BETTER, SLICKER. ps When you say 'glad you got your bike rideable again by the end of the day.' I do hope your not mistaking me for max on the red RSV who decided to slide 328feet (GPS confirmed)

Dates for the 2nd one at Wittering is 8th of september but I wont be able to make that one myself as I am based at Raf Valley in North Wales. The week before (1st 2nd september) I'm running a track day up here. This one will be bikes on one day and cars the next. Details are not finalised but I expect that here will be £50 again for a full day's riding. So any one from Wales, cheshire, The Wirrel or west side of England has the chance of a good day. In previous years at Valley we have had BSB teams turn up. We've hosted JR and the Rizzla team who took pillions round and last year we got Hawk Kawasaki. They raced there bike against one of the hawk jets that are based here then ripped round the track. We also had James Ellison turn up (he was given a one way converstion by the track saftey officer for doing a stand up wheely the full length of the straight) But any way, when booking is available I will post contact details for both the Wittering and the Valley track days.
