Gen 2 tuono fuel pump needed, why do they always break down once you've filled em to the brim 😥 Relays clicking off after I've switched off and changed plug from wiring harness to fuel pump. Rode just over 130 miles and went cupput again. It's a renowned fault i keep seeing coming up on the forum etc so any other ideas would be gladly accepted. Bikes just done over 21thou

Are you sure it's the pump and not the wiring where it's potted in the base plate? That's a known failure site, the actual joint under the black compound. It usually starts as an intermittent fault I believe Not that the pump can't be faulty of course but it'd be a shame to fit a new pump and find you still had the problem

Thats a good shout bud, i will get the tester on it and test resistance between both ends of the wires.
Next question would be where to get sealant from to replug it up, I'll also try direct power to the pump as well to eliminate that too.

I would think so but fuel is a funny thing and can effect all sorts of things you wouldn't think of. I know people were speculating on that old link but I'm not sure what the consensus was finally I had my T cut out with no warning when low on fuel one trip when it was very hot,it started again after a few sec and then repeated a couple of times,it then went away after filling up and I never did get to the bottom of why. I think Spoonz posted some pics on here once showing the potting picked apart and what happens when they fail but I can't find the posts atm. Obviously you could be correct and the pump could have failed but as this is a known failure point I wasn't sure if you knew about it yet?

Am going to run a direct live to pump once took out the bottom of tank and test resistance between harness etc and just do that part as a precaution anyways.
Thanks for your help though bud, been a great value for sure. 👍

Good luck, and when you sort it finally can you report back please? If you end up running a new harness somehow I think the gauge of the wiring is a limiting factor in uprating the pump in future as the OE thin spaghetti is almost at it's limit current draw wise |

Not forgotten to post, but just ordered a new harness and then found out it comes from italy 🤬 so hopefully will have it tue/wed. Will then strip old one down and source all bits to do it properly.
Feel like some one stole a leg after not riding it for 4 odd years then 3 weeks in it going pear shaped.

Well all fitted and back to normal. Will post a pic up later but you can see where the wires comes out of the resin into the tank just a slight movement/gap and I'm guessing thats what allowed the bullet connectors to start to breakdown. Truly happy it was from help and advice on here it that saved me getting all crossed up and buying stuff i didn't need.
