cheers griff dude, was going to phone ya later lol .... i got an afam 41T black steel and its been ok tbh .... I got a steel 42T I used for a few months but it looks sh*t lol cheapo make I think, defo no brand name on it

sounds daft, my by "better" half likes things to match on her bike so i just quickly rub the sprocket down with wetn dry, degrease and spray with black plasticote.

like griff said, the black don't last on the tooth area but on the main part of the sprocket it looks good.

bit of a faff but if you absolutely, positively gotta have black........

lol ... its an ocd thing unfortunately, very f**king annoying ... the black steel afam looks good but as you said it does wear off a bit round the teeth.

Aren't the oem Suntour sprockets black steel? You tried a dealer? Why steel? Renthal do black anodised alloy.

alloy, thought they were for race use, last time I changed an alloy sprocket was on my mates bike, no teeth left on it .... I still dont know how that chain didn't come off lol

Well alloy will strip teeth before steel but certainly usable on a road bike. No sprocket is fit and forget. I'd hazard a guess 90% of people here are using alloy.

ive read a few times that the steel teeth come lose on the alloy part causing problems, only read it on forums so dont know how true it is, probably fine as they wouldn't still sell them
