thought i would give a quick update after my breif ownership absolutely loving it tweaked the suspension a bit handling is fantastic. changed plugs oil and filter and air filter still waiting for my abba stand so i can do the dog bone couple of little niggles the main one it wont always start first time. turn on ignition dash lights up push the starter nothing wont crank thumb the starter two or three times fires into life no problem. its got to electrical i am thinking side stand switch or the actual starter button or a bad earth any pointers whare to start looking would be great.

You can get upgraded starter cables and solenoids to help as the standard cables are lacking
The upgrade is heavy duty cables that carry the full current to the starter spinning the motor quicker Run through all the leads making sure of good contacts there is an earth on the engine to frame , you can bypass the side stand or just ensure all contacts are clean on the plugs or replace the switch itself It’s all preventative maintenance to stop the dreaded slow starting killing the starter sprag ££££££££

Is the starter solenoid operating, do you hear it clicking? I had exactly this issue, see my thread here: http://rsvr.net/topic28622.html |

might of fixed the starting problem because it was completely dead i always thought the start button kill switch was suspect so i opened itbest i could sprayed liberal amounts of contact cleaner and wd40 in there left over night haven't had a problem since starts every time i will be surprised if the fix is that easy but im keeping my fingers crossed.

If you decide you want to change the switch I’ve a couple of spares
I had the same issue and nothing sorted it at all (solenoid/leads) so despite the switch giving a good contact measured on a multimeter I changed it regardless and now it seems to behave |
