I think they would destroy the hugger though!  Big smile

Ha yeah I think if you use the hugger though you probably ought to measure your clearance with it fitted. There's a very good chance it would hit the hugger before the swingarm.

If it was a little too tight, you could put some spacers / washers under the hugger to gain a little more clearance.

It was funny . . . LOL

Ah right haha it would be a bumpy ride too. Wouldn't like to be nearby when they fling off at speed either.

I've had my mudguard off for a little while now. Think from riding bmx previously you get used to ripping off any bit of plastic tat that doesn't appear to have a good purpose. I haven't found much difference when cleaning it between mudguard on or off. Admittedly I don't do much green laning on the bike.. Might be a different story if I commuted on it year round though.

I picked up a pair of Supercorsa scrubs for £25 and gave them a go. My first attempt changing a tyre by hand too. Rear 180/60 looks near enough exactly the same dimensions as the Metzeler Compk slick 180. Maybe a touch taller. Did measure to be 194mm on the rim which goes to show how much tyres can vary from their nominal size.

With a regular 525 chain there looks to be plenty of clearance.

And with a 108 chain on 15-42 gearing there is plenty of swing arm clearance too. Was worrying over nothing. The first thing to cause clearance problems would be the lower fairing, not the swingarm.
