I love my RSVR.  Love the brutality of the v-twin, love the sound.  Does everything pretty well.

I've really been salivating over the RSV4.  Horsepower figures aside, is it really that much better of a bike?  This is a bit of a personal opinion thing, I know.  There are other car and bike owners that upgrade, only to regret it.

I own an RSVR and have ridden a mates V4 but could only ride it for a mile, it felt like sitting on a bar stool and putting your hands on the floor.
The RSVR is a spacious bike for real world riding but the V4 is tiny and cramped but it's a personal thing, I'm 5' 10", 63yrs old and a bit stiff with arthritis in my neck.
Incidently...the mate who owned it has now swapped it for the Tuono version and he's fitter and younger than me.

someone told me the rsv4 is just too focused as a bike in its riding position ,,but the tuono does everything you want and is comfortable.. especially with a bigger screen

Don't know about a RSV4 but I went from a Gen2 RSV Factory to a Touno V4 just a year ago. If I was making the same choice now I would have kept the Gen2. It always looked & felt special in a way the T4, mad & excellent as it is, can't.

Well after picking up my v4 factory in January, i'm smitten. Only been out for a few hours but I love it. It's not as sit in as my 99 rsv, more of a sit on, but after 5 minutes i'm tuned in and the grin is growing at a fair rate. On the move it just feels special, like it's only a piddly wee mountain bike you have under you. I'm not the tallest, about 180cms, but it fits like a glove and is virtually effortless. Just my tiptoes touch down but i just shift across at a standstill to get my whole foot down. Very different to the old mille, it's bang up to date, and the quickshifter, what can I say, on full chat, wow. Well pleased with my purchase. I have kept my old 99 mille though, never getting rid of that.

I had a Gen 1 RSV Mille for 10 years and loved ever mile. However, I rode Dave Surfers TV4 for 30 mins last Easter and was immediately smitten. I Got a great deal on a TV4 last November and am loving it. I very reluctantly sold the Mille a few weeks ago.

The Tuono is the best bike I have ever owned. Ever. And, surprisingly is probably the most comfortable.

I an 6'4" and 58years old but I love every minute of it, even a 400 mile round trip to Griffs in the pissing rain last week.

I took a rsv4 factory out for a test in Feb on damp roads..I enjoyed it but the standard can compared to my arrow sounded pants. A mate has since bought a 15 plate rsv4 with a sc project can on and after riding my gen 1 and his v4 back to back I'm blown away! The thing is tiny and won't suit everyone but I'm 6ft and after a while seems fine. The noise, electronics and power is amazing! !! Getting back on mine made me realise how far bikes have moved on..still love mine tho'😊

My 2 pence worth :)

I just took my new V4 out for the first time today. My goodness. I had my gen 2 factory for 4 years, it was a very well sorted bike that was tuned to perfection. The V4 is in a different league. In every possible way...

Noise - well you all know what they sound like already. Nothing comes close in my opinion. Whether your feeding it gears at 12krpm, on the overrun or just pootling along, it sounds sublime.

Power - different league. If you use 3/4 throttle it feels about as quick as a gen 2. Then you open it all the way and... wow. It power wheelies in 4th gear. Moderate accelaration coming out of 2nd / 3rd gear bends will have the front lifting. Just totally intoxicating.

Handing - havn't even begun to scratch the surface so can't really comment. It does feel strangely familiar despite being much smaller.

Brakes - same as above, although I had a very good setup on my old gen 2.

Gear shift - lovely, positive 'chink' every time, much more refined feel over my old bike.

Oh and if anyone is in the market for a QS, pay the extra and buy the HM SS (seamless shift). No matter the gear, revs or throttle position, its smooth as you like, just totally perfect.

I've just done about 60 tentative miles and I'm in love with this machine!

I can only echo what's already been said. I've had two rsv mille's and loved both

I didn't fancy an rsv4 on the road though so went with a Tuono factory

Like what you're getting they really are unbelievably fast and it took me by surprise just how quick it would punch up the box pinned using the qs

Very few gripes for me really. Standard pads are a slight downfall if you are fast road and track. Next compound up on oem are Brembo sa and the feel is lovely although I've not tracked with the new ones in so can't comment on fade yet

As a overall package I honestly think it's one of the best out there and the only things I wished it had I found out 4 months later the 17 model come with

You won't be disappointed
