That's a tricky one.

You can make good money breaking them but I'd ask PaulW. He has broken many and most of us have benefitted so it helps loads.
But....be prepared to have a lot of bike laying around for a long time. And after that lots of pieces you will never sell or indeed have to bin. So you need space and patience to break a bike.
You could sell as a project with the frame and someone would have it, very much as you did.
If it were me and I liked the bike I'd reframe it and keep it. If you no longer like it or desire this one sell on as a project complete. Depends what it owes you and at the least if you can break even as a project to rebuild.

As James alluded to, breaking is not as simple as it first seems. To put it in perspective I broke probably 40 RSVs, stopped doing it five years ago as the pain and grief frankly isn’t worth the monetary reward. Yes you’ll return more (eventually) than a straight sale, and if you’ve got the time, patience and skills (mechanical and marketing wise) it may be worth it to you for a one off. But as Milles are getting older there’s not as much demand for parts, and prices reflect that (Oz wheels 10 years ago would fetch a grand, now half that).
I’ve still got half a barn full of unwanted parts, including frames and engines, that I really can’t be arsed to advertise as I know I’ll soon get depressed by the lying, ignorant, thieving parasites that eBay attracts (and employs....)

Big smile
