Hi Guys,

I was just giving the bike a once over today and I checked if the rear sprocket nuts were tight. the first one was tight the second did half a turn and the third, fourth and fifth just turn! The nuts are nylocs and the all have the same amount of thread sticking out. I am guessing the studs that are turning are just not as tight in the bushes?

Is this something i need to be concerned about?

Kind regards

Antony

If you're describing what I think you are you need to take the sprocket off the wheel to tighten them.

Take rear wheel off bike. Pull (without wiggling if you can help it) the sprocket evenly away from the wheel. It's mounted on studs that go into the cush. Once the sprocket is off you can see the sprocket bolts themselves have little flat nuts on the back. You need to hold them still with a spanner while you tighten the bolts. Otherwise you will have just been rotating these if just tightening from the front.

Sorry if misunderstood.

Thanks black lines
What holds the sprocket the wheel? Is there a cue lip or some thing in the centre of the flange that the studs go through?
