Evenin. I realised earlier why my tiger is so slow. Its me wrist and its lack of movement so I'm after a qa throttle. So the question. When you fit one can you fit it to the original cables if not how much longer do they need to be?
ive just got my first vtwin and i think i got the right one

The ones I've used (Accossato &a Domino) came with cables. The Accossato one is better as you can change the QA cams without disconnecting the cables fully as it has a quick release system. Have a look on the Accossato or Domino site and they should supply the correct length cables

Go with the Accossato as it's better value in my opinion 🤘ðŸ»

I'll have a look for accossato ones see what I can find. The only problem with this bike is its age, a 93 so most places don't list stuff for em anymore

Venhill on mine, you make the cables up to whatever length you want.

I have a similar issue mr Rybes on my Gen 2
I can’t get much more than 75%throttle on my bike without taking a “second handful “ of throttle after my bicycle crash a few years ago
I was concidering the options to reprofile the original throttle cam to increase the cable pull distance ( I have a spare throttle assembly to have a look at somewhere in the garage )
I’m not sure if that :
A. Has it been successfully done before
B. How much can actually be gained by doing this .

I had also considered the possibilities of printing up a reprofiled  replacement part to fit the original housing ????

It has been done by successfully by many in the past. There used to be a sticky in the How To's,or possibly it was the previous forum.

These days most people seem to prefer just spending money rather than actually modifying something themselves.  A printed snail cam sounds like a better idea than aralditing a brass ring on the sleeve though.

I always fancied knocking up an ali cam on our 4th axis but never had the time Cry

I agree it could do with at least the standard 2nd part of the travel quickening, more than once I've found I wasn't wot when I meant to be

There was definitely a 'How to' for the mod on here as I know I read it years ago (on this version of the forum though as I joined after it changed). I've just done a quick search though and can't find it.

Mike Edwards has a video about throttle development and he's got a handy little technique for getting WOT without another handful. Once your wrist extends as far as you can get (about 75% throttle), start opening your hand and continue pulling back. So you're holding on with your fingers but your palm starts to lift from the grip. Then when you hit the next braking zone just roll your palm back on and continue rolling forward.

Super simple and means you still have fine control of the throttle up to about 75%. Never used a QA but I'd imagine you'd lose some fine control due to the shorter travel for greater effect. Mike Edwards seems to think so anyway.

also after you brake sighting roll your hand back over throttle gives you more freedom with your arm.
Or start with your hand abit over throttle

I have made one in the past from a piece of old drain pipe. I cut it to the width needed then sanded down one edge slightly to make a more aggressive throttle pull. It worked well but I need less travel now than that gave as my wrist only goes back around 15 degrees. It's almost locked in position now
ive just got my first vtwin and i think i got the right one
