Brembo used plastic pistons which crack causing total brake failure !

Here is a picture of the faulty plastic part.

It's difficult to believe that brembo thought such a high strain item could cope with braking a 200 bhp vehicle. It makes you wonder what other cheap tricks brembo has been doing

The recalll is for all brembo mc of that type supplied since 2015. That is across all marques brembo supply so expect more manufacturers to be making recall programmes public. I know Ducati have acknowledged their bikes will also be recalled via vosa soon.

As It happens there have been 5 found faulty since 2015 across about 30k m/c supplied so I wouldn’t panic that failure is imminent.

I recently had the piston out on my 2004 tuono to replace the clutch master cylinder seals and the piston was plastic like that, wonder if the brake is the same

Hi Damo, when you got the seal kit for your clutch master cylinder, was it a 12mm seal kit ?
