Who's coming to this exclusive trackday for Aprilias only.
It's arranged by Aprilia factory group Facebook.
To book No limits and quote the above. It would be nice to have a few more come from the forum. I think BirkyD, Paddedcell, Tapmyhead and myself are going and even if you don't want to go on track, Liam Dear from the factory group said everyone is invited. I think it's £179 for the trackday.
It would be a good meet and the weather should be great.

Hi Adam, same as you I will be booking up after Christmas, it should be a great day out.
What you going to ride a gen 2 or 1?
I am looking forward to it, I want to see how the much 1060s out there are faster than mine ๐Ÿ˜‚
Look forward to seeing you and hopefully a few more to represent the forum.

I'm going, it will probably be my first track day so I'll be wobbling around in the novice group thinking I'm Rossi .

Be cracking to put names to faces.

I'll be on my Gen2 rsvr fairly stock at the moment just running ti tigcraft cans and links on standard headers although I've just picked up an evo airbox kit and depending on cash I'm hoping to get her a pc5 and custom map by then. As far as I'm aware it's a no noise limit day so for once I won't have to run the stocks can't really have an Ape day and a ridiculous 102db limit. I'm really up for this I'll be booking in the inters leave the fast group to the v4s.

Hi Sam, it will be my first trackday but I have raced for a few seasons, haven't been on track since 89, like my mate says it's a trackday not a race.
Hey anyway I will be 58 in a week so you anklebiters got no excuse ๐Ÿ˜‚
It will be a great laugh and it will be nice to have a group go from the forum. Paddedcell is taking his 1060 and Tapmyhead his 1103 and I am taking my mad dog developed non big Bore and lot of ibuprofen gel there again they might have sorted my hips then. Regardless I am going even if I got to stand on two beer crates and have the bike wheeled underneath me like Mick Grant when he was injured.
I am going in to the inters but I doesn't matter what group we go in as long we have a laugh and meet up.
I guess BirkyD be in the fast with his V4 Tuono and the fact he always overtaking something in his videos, a quick rider and I am sure he would give you some guidance should you need it, I am coming in a van so will be bringing my tools should anyone need anything.
Adam yes I hope we don't have to put the baffles in because the noise of all those twins is going to be memorable.

I'm not sure Ad, every time I've done a No Limits day they've done static noise testing but the only no limits day I've done at Donny was a road bike day and it was ride by only? And a few people on the Aprilia Factory Facebook group have said that the 105db is a ride by limit, which is incredibly loud on a static...one bloke even posted a clip of an RSV4 with an open Akra (off of an R1) and that was seriously loud and didn't get pulled, a few other people were saying that moto 3 and moto 2 bikes have been running at those noisy days with no silencing and no getting pulled?
I'm going to give it a go without the db killers in and see how it goes, can always pop them in if need be.

They've not heard the Mivvs yet ๐Ÿ™‰.... hahaha.

In all seriousness, I think it should be fine going by that, if it's 105 ride by then it must be stupidly high on a static 112-113 or something ...although quite what the noise meters will make of 180 Mille's, Rsv4's and Tuono's is going to be Interesting

Hahaha mivvs are definitely louder but if it's ride by we will all pass you would have to be on a jet bike or no cans at all to fail 105 my un baffled arrows used to blow that at static. I'll call them again next week to confirm so we all know what's what.

Good lad, be handy to get confirmation rather than from what my mate's, brother's, bird's boyfriend said... ...
Be absolutely awesome if we can all just blast round db killer free all day though

Ok boys and girls good news. Just spoken to no limits and it's a 108db DRIVE BY limit so unless you've forgotten your exhaust altogether I can't imagine anyone will fall. This will be a seriously good ( and loud) day. It's only open to Ape riders at the moment 180 spaces some are booked on already. Been talk over the last few years of a forum trackday and for once it's actually happening hope to see some of you there!

Get it booked up Phil, I think they aren't opening it up to the public (booking wise) until December but the lad who got it organised is trying to get no limits to hold off from putting it on their website until January, from looking at the Facebook page though plenty are booking up already...
I can't wait, should be a proper day out

Great Fulggers you are coming too, it is like you say a forum trackday for the first time.
Thanks to both the Adams for finding out the information, so no db killers and plenty of big bores for me to go with and compare. Who could ask for more.

Haha, might not need to rush too much...just saw on the Facebook page that 18 people have actually booked up so far๐Ÿ™ˆ...im sure it'll go up but that's a long way off the 177 that put their names down to go, mind you it's close to Christmas so I bet it'll go up considerably once that's out the way.... I hope so because if we can fill it with mostly Aprilia's it will be an awesome day (and an awesome noise ๐Ÿ˜€).

... you'll be fine in inters Ad, I'm not that quick(regardless of bike or bhp) and I'm comfortable in inters and you'll soon pick it up round Donny , i found it the easiest of any track I've been to to get to grips with, its just really intuitive (at my pace anyway ).. just make sure you've got a good set of pads because you'll use them all around the loop section๐Ÿ˜Ž

Hi Adam, I have never rode around Donington either, if you go in to the novice group can you change during the day?
I have never done a trackday only raced a long time ago, but what I have watched of trackdays the inters seems to be safer.
I am looking forward to putting the slipper and Braketechs their paces at the loop.
What rubber are people intending to use on the day?

I have never done a trackday only raced a long time ago, but what I have watched of trackdays the inters seems to be safer.
I am looking forward to putting the slipper and Braketechs their paces at the loop.
What rubber are people intending to use on the day?

Howdy Rich.
Im not sure on the switching groups thing with no limits? All depends how full up it is I suppose๐Ÿค”..
Honestly buddy, you'll be fine in the inters, you'll be too quick for novice I think . Just take your time in the first couple of sessions and you'll soon get to grips with Donny.
I'll be sticking with Supercorsa sp's on mine I think or the Conti Race Attacks if I need to fit a new set by then, both very similar level and plenty sticky enough for my pace.

Cheers for that Adam, I will use Metezlers, but I don't know whether to go for K3s as they are a road tyre and I can use the bike more often on the road. The K2s and K1s is really race rubber and a waste on the road.

Hello Phil.
Yes, there's a fuel station on site(credit/debit card only).

Yeah, I'm expecting mine to not be quite as frugal next time around๐Ÿ˜‚

K3's are about on a par with Supercorsas arent they Rich? They'll be more than enough, I used to run Dunlop Sportsmarts and they were fine and they're at a level below the K3/Supercorsa.

At some point the remaining places will be open to general public.

Im coming.
I need to put a few demons to the sword from my last trackday which was the Aprilia one that was held at Silverstone many moons ago (2006 I think!)
I'll throw myself in the novices and wobble about as best I can.

Looking forward to the banter and catch up.

I don't think you can have a "slow" crash at Silverstone Cry

as long as you can walk away that is all that matters.

Cheesy, you gonna bring the Gen1/2 Tuono?  Would be great to finally slobber all over it.

Can't see it being 60 TBH, max race grid size is 36 from memory. Endurance is limited to 40

Although knowing NL if they can squeeze that in.....

60 on track at any one time would be ludicrous. No one would get a clear track, and given the diversity of talent in each group....

I just fancied a sedate trundle with like minded Aprilia owners, sorry to piss on anyone's chips but massive groups are not for me.

I'm sure somebody told me 40 but Liam said today it was 60๐Ÿค”...

However, I've done Donington with no limits last year and if it was 60 a group for that one then it was fine, it certainly didn't feel too crowded...

Not been to Donington in a good few years.

How safe is bike parking on site, if you're spectating on a trackday?

I don't want to have to take my eyes off of the gravel pit for too long, looking over my shoulder LOL

You will be able to bring it into the pits, when I went to Brands they let my mate's father bring his bike in there. Or we will put in the van and drive it into the pits with mine Rick.

Hi Paul, I have just asked Liam Dear, and he has confirmed that it is 60 to a group.
Let's hope they don't fill it, I agree with you entirety.
60 is too much, it's not the TT, perhaps they think they are going to let people on track like the Tt ๐Ÿ˜‚

There's still 20 spaces left in inters Ad and, to be honest , I bet they won't take many bookings from the general public until it gets much closer to the day, I never book up until about 3 or 4 weeks before normally and there are always spaces in all 3 groups.

B&B?????

Ya bunch of poofwoofs LOL

I have every intention of waking the village and most of the Fens at 04:30 and a cross country blatt.

But 60 in a group is seriously taking the pee, best dig out some wider bars and if I am not Ape mounted I might need the protection

Sounds like they're really packing them in Shocked

If I'm in the country at that time I might come along to either ride or at least have a chat and watch,I did think about booking it as I have unfinished business with that track but a combination of factors mean it's unlikely I'll manage to get there.

I can say though that if they try and pack 60 into novice there could be carnage,so many different lines and abilities make it almost inevitable.

And given that most will insist on inters just because usually means that's the group that normally has the most red flags,at least the fast guys know enough to stay safe and make allowances for others while they're scraping their elbows

Hi lads I wrote to No limits and this is their reply, would we be prepared to pay £250 for 40 in a group? It might been nice to ask everyone first.
Hey anyway like Fulgy says about wide bars,I might stick some a couple of spoilers for winglets ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hi Richard

Thank you for your email regarding Donington Park on the 17th July.
I do not know where the confusion has come in regarding the circuit numbers. Donington noisy days have always had a circuit limits of 60 riders. Days run at this venue described as quiet days which run at a 98db drive by do run at 40 due to strict local noise regulations.
We actually do not run any quiet days as they are very restrictive. Many road bikes with road exhausts can struggle (Aprilias included) on these events. Up until the circuit was taken over by MSV we actually ran Doningtons road bike only days for them so we know how difficult they can be.

It would be nice to run a noisy day with only 40 bikes a group, but with the circuit hire alone being over twenty five thousand pounds, I don't think many people would be prepared to pay 250 pounds per space.

I hope this clarifies the issue but if you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Mark

Hi lads, there's only 6 places left in the inters Iain told me about half an hour ago.
So that means 54 inters booked, so if anyone wanted to book into the inters group, I'd hurry, I am surprised it has been so quick to fill up, I have asked Liam if he would allocate a garage for the rsv.net group, he's yet to come back to me on that, it would be great if he can as it would mean we get a chance to meet and help each other out should someone need it.

Looks like Aprilia themselves are going to be there, they want to know what bikes are going. You can post your bike on Facebook Aprilia Factory group.
So let's show them we are just as passionate about our gen1s and Gen2s.
I would be great if we could match the numbers of the V4s. Cheesy did you finish your bike? I hope you come too,it would be nice to meet and see your bike. That was kind of you to offer your help if you don't ride.
