Howdy Rick. It's awesome ain't it...i saw it and thought, blimey, 11 grand for an 04 ZX10R...whats he on...then had a closer look and wow wow wow... that's honestly one of the most sorted bikes I think I've ever seen and if I had 11 grand to spend on a bike then it'd be spent on that...i could just sit and look at all the bits on it and get my money's worthπππ...

That's a crazy amount of cash that's been thrown at it very serious bit of kit. Shame about the colour but I had to find something to improve everything else is done with absolutely no expense spared. I have a soft spot for those bikes I'd have one now if it wasn't for the current ape being to good not to buy still want one though..... I'd have to sell the rsv, car, children and maybe a kidney to buy that

Proper ain't it Ad. Same as you, i really like those first gen ZX10R's anyway , but that one is just amazing.i actually like the colour as well, so I actually wouldn't have to do anything on that bike...other than drool over it

Carbon wheels is about the only hint that would make it a little bit better

I thought that but those Dymag's do look pretty trick all the same, a nice old skool touch ...plus , would you really want that front end making any flightier?

It's luuuurrrsssshhhh...lol. apparently, and I'm no expert, but those first ones are the best lol. Mate had one, took fairing off, straight bars, rearsets and lowered gearing. Put it back to standard when he sold it but he reckoned it was a right hooligan machine π

They're bonkers things, my mate had one earlier in the year and let me have a little go on it and I can honestly say that the engine left me shellshocked...god knows what your mates was like with lowered gearing ... This thing with the full Akra, airbox mod , properly set up etc, I bet it's putting out close to 180 at the wheel....with zero electronics....i don't think I'd be riding it in the wet somehow

Yep they are nuts I've wanted one ever since I had a play on my mates many years ago. Got off my 7R onto the 10R and holy sh*t it was mental. That's why I sold the old Kwack needed more power after sampling the 10R and fell for the ape

I have a first gen 10R as a track bike. Compared to the Tuono it's terrifyingly quick. Tiny as well, apparently the frontal area of it is less than the 2004 ZX6-R.
Mike 'Spike' Edwards on a newer 10R behind me - was a coasching day. Red flag city unfortunately :(
------------- Cheers

Looked a good day, where was that ?
They are tiny aren't they, when my mate had his i had my ZX9R parked next to it (my ZX is an 03 and his 10 was an 04), and the difference was just incredible....every aspect was obviously from a totally different generation but seeing the size difference with them right next to each other was a proper eye opener.

I just looked at him when he said he'd changed gearing with that "are you mad!!!" Kinda look π. He said it made things interesting πππ. The renthal bars looked great on it though. They scare the crap out of me just looking at them lol. If I had the money I'd love one of those new z900rs like

Brands GP. Horrific day for Red Flags, we had 2 in the same bloody session! First lap , didn't even make a full lap before red flagged.
Youtube video of me going very slowly......
Given I paid for Spike's tuition, plus b oth our trackdays, it worked out to something like £70 per decent lap. I could have cried.
It's actually a bit too small for me (I'm 6ft3) so I'm going to fit some +50mm clip ons, and need a bit more seat foam to help the angle of my leg. Can't lower the pegs, I managed to decl them, out going into Paddock. Almost sh*t myself when that happened.
I'm ashamed to say the 10 hasn't been out since last year. The Tuono hasn't even done 200 miles this year either. I've just not had a chance to take either out.
------------- Cheers

It does get a bit of a squash to lever yourself onto a bike at that height doesn't it (I'm 6' 4...), I had to do a few mods on my Tuono to get it right for trackdays, I just couldn't get my toes on the pegs enough as standard. That was an expensive old day then ... they do 4 groups at Brands GP as well dont they? I really want to have a day there but it being 4 groups really puts me off, by the time you've had an outlap and your last lap it can't leave much time between

They did try doing a 3 group day, but it was £229 or something like that. Most expensive circuit in the UK. I heard tell it was something like £18k a day to hire it.
You are lucky if you get 7 decent laps in a session on the GP .Obviously the fast lads are doing a couple more, but 15 min sessions are too short on that.
I quite fancy Spa - 25 min sessions as it's over 4 miles long!

Yeah, I wouldn't bother with that if it's 15 min sessions , it's not cheap anyway at about 170 quid with no limits...i'll stick to Donny, Rockingham and Mallory I think although i do want to try and get to Cadwell at some point...keep saying I'm going to but just never get round to it
