Guys please give me an idea here. I know the Factory's have OZ wheels on them but I see now that the '06'on RSVR's have a a similar wheel to an OZ but its not actually an OZ(?) can anyone just please shed some light on this? If I am correct then even though it looks similar it is indeed not an OZ rim as the 06 onward OZ are a different colour etc? This is all rather confusing and disconcerting too because surely some unsuspecting dude could pay OZ prices for wheels that are not what they seem to be!?

The wheels on the 2006 RSVR's are NOT the high spec forged aluminium OZ wheels as fitted to RSVR Factory and old model RSVR's. They are a lower specificaton Aprilia copy of the OZ wheel.

I thought that too, they look a bit on the cheap side!

Just by looking at the wheels you'll be able to tell which is the OZ and which is the Aprilia wheels. The difference in quality is significant. This is how all the high spec Aprilia OZ wheel will look http://www.maxmoto.co.uk/aprilia_rsv_oz_wheels.shtml

Thanks again LEGS for your input and the link. I was wondering mostly if the OZ's on the earlier Factory also had that OZ logo in yellow.... and on both sides? Please someone with a RSVR Factory let us know if your rims look like that? Heres an example: OZ rim or not?

The OZ Racing yellow logos are easily removeable and many owners don't like them and peel them off, so this is not a defining way of identifying an OZ wheel. In one of the 5 recessed rectangular parts of the spoke assembly it will be stamped OZ. On your picture it appears to be the one in the 2 O'clock position 02 RSVR

I have just bought a brand new 06 RSVR and have to disagree - the wheels I have are the Aprilia copy. A couple of reasons: OZ have taken a corporate decision (aparently) to get out of the motorcycle market and therefore Aprilia had to 'do something' about it hence the 'copy.' The quality is very good - imho I believe that they are cast aluminium - still lighter than the average wheel but not as light as the OZ wheel. (But stand to be corrected).

All the wheels are now supplied by Aprilia including the Factory model forged wheels. Aprilia hsve the higher spec model made to the original OZ design and use the name under license. All of the Oz type forged wheels now have the name and model around the edge of the rim in the casting so even without the sticky label you should be able to spot them.
