Is their any plastic weld / glue etc... that could be used to fix a piece of carbon fibre to the underside of the tank, its not to be used on the aprillia and was intending to drill a hole in the underside añd two holes at the top underside to give a larger fuel capacity

You mean where the airbox would sit? Would you really want to trust some glue to hold the fuel above a hot engine and not fail?

For a Heath Robinson fix drill it all round and have a shaped piece with a gasket bolted to it but you'd always have that worry of it failing as the plastic isn't stable and swells due to ethanol in the fuel

In my mx days we used to warm the tanks and pump compressed air into them. You could get quite a bit of extra capacity out of the tank.
How well the type of plastic on the ape would respond to that I don't know.
