Hi Guys,
Bit of a long one sorry I've just had an AT-300 fitted by my local Dynojet Centre, on the ride back everything seemed okay but as I went along it seemed to be a bit boggy / hesitant between 3 - 4K. The more I seemed to ride it the worse it got, during this time I noticed the battery was also getting quite low and I got some clicking noises from the front of the bike. Being a Li-Ion battery I thought it might be that so swapped in my old battery, all seemed good for a while but the bike is now starting to make the same clicking noises again and getting very hesitant below 4k again. It idles fine and starts on the button. I am completely stumpped. Does anyone have any idea's what could be wrong? Cheers Chris |

they can go anytime really. U need a meter on ac volts and measure the 3 yellow wires from the stator in pairs at about 4K revs. If one pair is substantially lower then a stator winding is toast. Should be 50-60v across each pair

if the stator is down the engine electrical systems will start to pull the batt down. As soon as it gets much below 12v sensors and the ecu etc will start glitching. it will get worse the longer you ride as the volts will get lower and lower.

Do I need to physically remove it or just disable it in the PCV? Chris |

Pretty much sums up the problem I'm experiencing, I will try disabling the AT-300 though just to double check Chris |

You need to check the voltage going into the battery with a multimeter and then the three phases at the brown plug as Spoonz mentions to be sure the Stator is fine.
Check also the condition of the brown plugs. One by the reg/rec and the one between the Heads on the engine if one is fitted. Early gen2 had both plugs. My racebike melted the one inbetween the heads despite the stator testing fine. It was causing it to cut out a few laps into a race as it got hot. That was just corrosion causing resistance

I've checked the brown cable and looks good with no signs of burning, I don't have a multi meter so can't check the voltages myself unfortunately but when doing some testing at 4k the on board dash reading was about 13v
To be honest im going to charge the battery up and take it back to the garage who installed it, it's definitely some kind of charging issue as the battery seems to be discharging even after a run, with the bike getting worse and worse the longer it was on for. Im hoping it's not the stator as that seems to be very expensive to fix but I have a feeling it might be I paid £380 I think for it and I got it from REPS motorcycles Colin
