Hi - new to the site and the bike.
Had an Aprilia itch for a number of years - until this came up for sale. No going back now. Bike has been sitting for a number of years meaning I'm planning to change all the fluids etc prior to its first ride out. Unreal how light the Aprilia is compared to my other bike (Triumph Sprint ST1050) Fingers crossed - the bikes back together in a few weeks. Cheers

That's the account updated - once it sorts itself I'll post some photos.
I'm outside in the garage just now bleeding the clutch and the rear brake. Cheers |

Sweet & welcome in. Smart move minimising the amount of background in the photos so we can't comment on your lawn, path or fence!

Hey Everyone.
Get your tissues ready, it's gonna be an emotional one. Back in Hungary I progressed from downhilling (the lazy, partying version of mountain biking) to Supermoto and Motocross (couldn't afford two bikes, so I kept swapping the wheels every other week. Not ideal for various reasons.... ). Then I moved to the UK, prompting a long pause. Meantime my old biking bodies got kids, mortgage and... (shiver)... ROADBIKES!!!! Really? I've never got them; on race meetings and other occasions tried the friends' roadbikes, but they felt silly with their dashboard (what's this, a lorry?), screens, clip ons, etc. With their sheer size, frame and suspension, delayed response, they felt like a bendy bus. Then the news came, one of us from the old gang fell ill. And passed away. Just like that. I didn't make it to the funeral (will bugger me till I die), but when I heard of a remembrance ride out, carrying his ashes, I new I can't miss it. At one point I had the privilege to lead the convoy on his bike. A gen I Tuono. And it happened, bars and pegs at the right place, instant throttle response with torque and torque, and an apparently mind reading suspension. I've got to have one. Couple months later I found one in Scotland (I live in Bristol... ) with my name on it. 1000 miles later I had a bike. THE bike! Only thing, I couldn't really ride it because soon after buying it I've got hospitalised (another story), after that I wanted to replace a badly chipped rear spring which snowballed into building the perfect ever Tuono, so the bike's been residing at Griff's shop for some time now... You can see it on the videos, that's the one that arrived on a... khm... a pallet. (No rear wheel. And swingarm... ) Sorry for the long post, just wanted to explain how important bikes can be. Though I guess it needs no explanation here... |
