I know this won't be to everyone's taste on this forum, but I wanted to share as I'm excited about it.

I've always lusted after an R1 and the 14b does it for me. So after a few months of scrimping and saving I've finally gone and bought one.

Yep I do like that but as said the lights are a bit Marty Feldman startled by headlights but it looks great in the Matt with those pipes.

I've got the mirrors, they'll be going back on. I don't like not being able to see behind me at a glance.

Thanks for the positive comments. I'm very happy with her

Thanks for all the nice comments chaps, yeah I've still got the falco. I'm not sure I'll ever get rid of that. I love it too much and I've put so much time and money into it it's not really worth selling.

Seriously thinking of getting rid of both my Haga and my 05 Factory and either getting an RSV4 or a big bang R1 although I will be looking more at the later model with traction control.

I couldn't fault the 09 R1 to be honest and was working at a Yam dealership when they came out so got to play with a few whenever I felt like it, absolutely loved it even though it didn't feel as quick as the 07 R1 I had at the time, but it actually felt every bit as good as my Aprilias when it came to coming out of the corners Smile

Thanks for the kind comments.

She got a proper test today and fook me what's machine! It gathers pace so easily and rapidly. It's so easy to be above the speed limit without really knowing it.
In race mode it's savage. So aggressive, from the smallest twist of the wrist it takes off and it's relentless all the way up to the 15k Rev limit. It feels solid and planted all the time. Gives a lot of confidence. The brakes are on another level. It's an absolute weapon on the road. Truth be told nobody needs a machine this capable or powerful for the road but it sure is fun.

I love the looks and the stealth colour scheme. The carbon Akras sound amazing. The best sounding IL4 I've heard for a long time.
It doesn't have the soul of the Aprilia but it makes up for it in other ways.

Noice bike Mister, as with most I do find the head on appearance a little strange mainly due to the upsweep of the air intakes with the bulging effect of the headlights but as has already been mentioned they sound superb with noisy cans, and I see you have some already in situ, good work that man. I've not ridden one of the big bang models but I've always had a thing for any R1, they always seem just a little different to the normal Japanese in line 4 bikes.

Very nice SN very jealous, I have yamaha in me veins LOL still have a 99 R1 in me raaaj, whats the big bang motor like? If you're not on it yet then the R1 forum is a good place for tips and tricks (can be at times a bit bitchy, but mostly a good bunch on there) and some of the customs are absolutely awesome.

Deacs Thumbs Up

Thanks Deacs. The big bang motor is fantastic. Loadsa torque (although those that say it's like a v-twin probably haven't ridden a twin) Its a fookin misile on the road, it just relentlessly gathers speed. Even at 150+ the digital speedo is jumping up 3 or 4 mph at a time. It makes a cracking noise, it's throaty like a twin but you can still tell it's an il4.

Thanks for the forum tip. I'll have a look 👍 I have signed up to Yamahar.co.uk as I was finding a lot of the other r1 forums either a bit dead or mainly American users.

They do sound good Fella, if I could just crack the code on WifeBank I'd have one in a heartbeat! The forum I suggested is US based but still generally a good bunch when I was on there ... which is a while back now, I too found all the uk forums pretty dead
