Hello all, new member here from Leicester.
Picked this up a few weeks ago from a friend of a friend. Genuine 7K miles on it backed up by mot history. He did less than 100 miles a year on it, always connected to a Ctek charger. Has the Titanium racing cans on it. A few scars/dings from being in the garage and having stuff dumped on it.  So far I've changed all the fluids, plugs and filters, given some of the connectors a clean, fresh battery, cleaned calipers and bled clutch and brakes.  Also fitted the Fireblade stand from AP. It'll be at AP in a week or two for a tune up and a general look over.

Hi Sam and welcome along. Seems l8ke you're already going to the right place for a tune up and getting the easy stuff done yourself gives you a great sense of satisfaction and a brilliant way of getting to know the new steed . Any questions or advice fire away always happy to help. P.s bonus points awarded for posting up a pic without asking how!

Welcome Sam, I'm sure you will love your new steed. Any help or info needed just ask, I learned so much on here about optimising how these bikes work when I first joined.

Thanks for all the replies guys. It's a lovely bike to ride. It'll ride better once the suspension is setup and the throttle bodies balanced. I've not touched the brown connectors as they looked ok, would like to hear your thoughts on whether I should do the mod or not. Once the bike's back from AP I'll get some pr5s on it...and maybe Santa will bring me some carbon bits for it.

Sam.

Griff at AP reckons to leave the brown connector (Unless it's already knackered) and to just maintain the connections. His view is it's a symptom not the cause and you should tackle the cause if a problem exists. I think he did a video on YouTube about it.

Cheers for that. I'll leave it alone for now. I've seen a few of his vids on YouTube but I'll have a look for that particular one.

Sam.

welcome Sam.

I had a Gen 2 some years ago and it was beautiful.  Looks like you've found a decent one.

Great guys on here so you'll have lots of fun and remarkable knowledge coming your way if you need it 👍👍👍

Yep I'd agree with that never cut any out on any of the three Gen2 rsv's I've had. Always check them over the winter months and keep the connections clean but as said above irs a symptom rather than the problem so leave well alone unless problems arise.

Looks to be the early model from the picture has the swingarm recall been done?

From what I've read and seen yes it has but there is nothing in the comprehensive service history I have with it. I'm sure AP will be able to confirm either way.
